| The news came as a total shocker. One of the most promising actresses today – and one with maximum hits under her belt is giving it all up – to walk down the aisle and never look back. Amrita Rao has allegedly decided to tie the knot and give up acting! Shocked? So were we when we heard the news.
According to sources close to the petite actress (considered a lucky A-lister after 'Ishq Vishq', 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Masti') there was tremendous pressure on her from the conservative community (Konkan-Mangalorean) that she hails from to quit films. A source who refused to be named said, "We are not used to all this nonsense controversies. Half the time she was reading quotes attributed to her that she hadn't even said. It's better to quit and settle down happily with a man the family picks." Amrita refused to be drawn into the controversy and said an emphatic "No Comment!" to everything we asked.
But until the actress confirms or denies these rumours, we can only speculate. Is it the work of an overactive grapevine or is there some truth in it? We'll have to await that one. |
