There are so many legends in Indian cinema and music who lived a poor(financially) life..Ust Bismillah Khan has been mentioned in one of the threads here(a recipient of Bharat Ratan, the highest award bestowed by by the Govt of India..Bharat Bhushan is another one which comes to mind....The greatest punjabi poet Shiv Batalavi use to live hand to mouth during his last few days..Can you tell about other legends of  Indian film Industry who may be in the same boat...

Such stories are everywhere, in sports..in armed forces. Sad!

I can think of many.
Leela chitnis was abandoned by everyone and died in a old age home without any money in U.S.
lalita pawar too had no money and was abandoned.
raj kiran (arth) too had no money last i heard of him.
