yes it did say tht he is dead but it was not clearly mentioned tht he is dead or not..

i say tht he is not dead and maybe it is planed between dumbledore and snape to act it out..

its more than a year 2 wait 4 da 7th book.

It's possible, but I highly doubt he's really alive. JKR never said he was dead, but he did "die" in the book.
