A 18 year old small town girl from Lucknow, she is spontaneous, vivacious, optimistic and very religious. She is driven by a clear moral compass. Khushi often helps people without expecting anything in return, through which her kindness shines through. She stands for what she believes in and never lets go of her inculcated values. She is righteous and very intelligent and very naive as well. Her sister, Payal and she are very close, she often confides a lot to Payal. She has a hard time understanding and speaking English. When she is upset, she starts making an Indian sweet called "Jalebi" and eats it for comfort. She talks to herself when she is nervous. She has seen many tragedies in her young life. Both her parents died in a car crash when she was aged 8 and was adopted by the family she now lives with.Even though she and Arnav cannot see eye to eye, she is slowly falling in love with Arnav and refusing to believe it by calling it "acidity" and "heartburn". She calls Arnav Singh Raizada, "Laddh Governor", "Rakshaas". Even though sometimes, she does make hasty decisions; Khushi always ends up making them right and following her heart.
Khushi earned a nickname from Arnav's girlfriend and present fiance, Lavanya Kashyap who calls her "Chamkili" meaning shiny or gaudy as she wears very shiny and over the top Salwar kameezes. Even though at first they did not get along, she and Lavanya became fast friends. Mami ji calls her "faati sari" as Khushi's first day in Delhi she went to Raizada mansion to sell saris and Mami ji disliked her instantly. Khushi's aunt, Bua ji, calls her "Sanka Devi" translating to goddess who stirs trouble and "Titliya" meaning butterfly. Arnav's grandmother,Nani and his sister, Anjali, are very fond of her. Khushi is very filmy and often imitates scenes from old Hindi movies to make someone happy.
28 year old highly successful business tycoon, Arnav Singh Raizada, hardhearted, audacious, proud, arrogant, logical and somewhat of a classist, likes to manipulate people into achieving his own ambition. Arnav owns a Fashion house called "ASR Group". Arnav is very forthright and likes to deal with situations in a business like manner. He is shown as an introverted man who keeps to himself who likes to keep control of himself and of situations. Arnav has an explosive anger; however he is kind and generous and a fair-minded individual . He deeply cares for his sister, Anjali and is very protective towards his family. Arnav is not comfortable with emotional situations and it makes him feel uncomfortable. At a very young age, Arnav had to take responsibility of the family business which made him rather bitter about life. Like Khushi, Arnav too lost his parents at an early age making him some what guarded of himself. Even though Arnav is unfeeling, Khushi ignites a feeling in him that makes him quite uneasy and hence he tries to push her away by saying harsh words and treating her cruelly, nonetheless he loves her and is unable to deal with it. His only hobby is gardening and his favorite color is red. Arnav suffers from Diabetes. He does not believe in rituals, religion and is shown to be agnostic. He doesn't stick to social norms either, thus does not believe in the institution of marriage and was living together with his girlfriend, Lavanya Kashyap, whom he has no feelings for and is currently engaged to her to spite Khushi.
