Why do we look down upon "ghar jamai"? (Page 8)

See some times we have to trust people .. we can't judge like that in each and every case .. yes I agree there are chances.. but I see several real children who simply care about the property of their own parents rather than taking their good care they deserveSmile

true enough.....being ghar jamaii is not necessarily a bad thing. if the jamaii raja is working and contributing to the household....then whats the problem?

As long as the ghar-jamai acts like any other jamai while earning his own bread and not sitting home with a devil's workshop, there is nothing wrong in it. IMO ghar jamais are only looked down upon only when they are weaklings and don't do their own stuff. If a millionaire lives with his in-laws, no one is going to judge him but they will understand that the girl's parents were alone and hence the decision. But if it some guy living off from the parents' income, they deserve to be ridiculed.

of course its not wrong.  that was the case here.........there was another brother to take care of their own parents.........no harm in that.

This sounds very nice to hear.....but practically.....its not possible to appreciate such type of men.....we heard of ideal Daughter-in-laws who continues the tradition of a family...or who is a representative to continue legacy  of a family....but have'nt heard of an ideal ideal-son-in law.....Confused....who makes a father in law proudConfused.....
yeah! if it were some bill gates..or Narayana Murthy's son in law ..its different..for ordinary folks....ghar jamai concpet is Ouch
