I sincerely mean this..plz don't take it otherwise. Plz listen to it..its Asha no doubt. GD has two other no.s in Sujata...tum jiya hazaro saal, and nanhi kali sone chali.

I love all and all her songs. ok. may be not all but still. theres only a few compared to most of the grt singers. they are just grt. Her naughty and 'chulbuli' feeling to the songs are superb. Babuji dheerey, ai dil mujhe bata de, mera naam....
the only song i think i dont like so much is Na jao saiyan...nothing to do with Geeta Dutt, more to do with the song itself.

I love her bengali songs too (just a few we have):

Nishiraat banka chaand
Tumi je amaar

(aur toh yaad nahi hai abhi) :-(

Geeta Dutt is simply grt.

Geeta'di s bengali songs are truely melodious... Absolutely love 'Ei sundat swarnali sandhyaye' , 'Nishi raat baNka chaand akashe', 'Tumi je amar'...

Would also like to mention 'Ei mayabi tithi', 'Ke daake amaye'. 'Jhiri jhiri choitali'... 👏👏👏

 

I love Geeta Dutt.She made lots of sacrifices for her singing.I think bengalis are solely connected with music.

I would say music connects all.. Lets not differentiate as Bengalis and Non-Bengalis......

But yes, just too many Bengalis contributed to Indian Music... 👏

Geeta'di just added a different touch to all she sang...

I think that 'Nanhi kali sone chali, hawaa dheere aana' from Sujata still remains the best sung lullaby in Hindi cinema... 👏 👏 👏
