Coming to your question about putting foot down, I would say yes

why? because if your mentor himself asks you to do wrong things, then you really can put your foot down. If you do it then it will be you noble act by putting foot down if he is asking you to do wrong things. I definitely agree that you should always obey mentors but not when he is asking you to do wrong things. It will not affect him but it will affect your own career. For eg : Look at vinit and himani. They were considered to be so-called hot-favorites to win this contest but what happened after that act. This is the best example of it. So mentors are always to teach good things and you should obey them and not for teaching to do wrong thigns. .......got it? Atleast intelligent people will not do it.......

i feel saregamapa has to learn something from indian idol ...after all amey behaved like a true idol. not many people take the stand he took on that occasion. he had support of people and mentors also. it impressed me hell alot. sonu mite have done a gud thing by leaving sa re ga ma pa.
