Heyy All ,
Today's episode although focused on PAYASH marriage and the staunch opposition by Mamiji...was really aimed at showing the different ideologies of Arnav and Khushi... It was mainly aimed at showing that ASR exists bec Arnav's core still remains unchanged, Untouched, uncorrupted ...when decision time comes , the cold blooded, ruthless, merciless ASR with ice cold Brain re-boots n takes over !! ... Does this negate all the change ??
Arnav descends from his Olympian heights to talk to Mami about PAYASH or to parrot the spiel taught by Khushi but the record is brought to a halt by a supercilious Mami.. biting down on his anger...Arnav stalks to the Taj Mahal and stands there seething and simmering , sure enough , His Noor Jahan walks in few nano seconds later , takes a deep breath , offers a quick prayer for her soul n bravely tries to tackle Arnav !! it is like lighting up a powder keg..Arnav quickly turns on her but does he grapple her shoulders, does he shove her , does he even say, all this is ur fault !! No !! he does not he merely contents himself saying that such emotional talks are foolish and tells her to stop her arrant nonsense ... her intrusion which would have earned her few bruises on her skin earlier on now warrants a few sharp barks !!
Next comes the scene which clearly shows conflicting ideologies ..the scene was very subtle but with strong currents ..that one scene defined who Khushi is and who ASR is ??..The talk between Khushi and Arnav ..Arnav decides that time for games are over and hunker down to do business HIS way ..when Khushi tries to point out that he is dealing with life and emotions and it is not about company... Arnav with great composure clinically, dispassionately gently and almost sympathetically informs her that the world understands two things Power and Money !! No swagger, no snobbery just confidence,assurance and immense self belief !! .. he walks to Mami.. watches her with nonpartisan eyes, draws his strategy and with cool, detached mind, he zooms in for the kill.. he attacks her weakest spot , having no compunction in telling her the naked truth, not pussy footing around her .. it is a neat, clean kill..he watches her writhe but does not loosen his grip..draws the nut tight, and plays the card right by telling her that she is always free to walk away from the riches, status, prestige ...
Arnav had begun wavering on his firmly held belief that lower class people can be bought for Money ..he had begun to rethink on his views ..which stood nullified when Mamiji , a lower classed woman was again bought by playing off on status, riches card !! His long held conviction is reaffirmed ..Lower class can be bought for a Price ..only the price varies !!...
I just loved the shot of Arnav Singh Raizada walking away from Khushi ( after quietly informing her that it was not her emotional tomfoolery but his brass tacks and business like approach that saved the day ) , the distance widening and growing ..An augury of the future perhaps !!
Anjali was a disappointment ...she clearly showed that when the cookie crumbles, she will be the first one to fall ..the feeling of strength, of being the pillar is all false for she is the weakest link !! apart from shedding tears, she clearly showed that she does not have the mental fortitude to withstand any crisis ...
If Anjali disappointed me by her folding up act with the first hint of trouble , Lavanya pleasantly shocked me by her sensible comments .. her poser that Akshay has a right to choose leads me to believe that she may begin to think that Arnav never really did choose her nor did he choose him ..she has begun to think.
A reassuring scene is when Nani almost falls down under emotional stress, it would be Arnav , the same Arnav who flouted Nani's rule, the same Arnav who is almost always rude to Nani who rushes to her aid,, helps her along with Anjali to the couch.. This one act shows that Arnav is always there and when the stimulus is right, he can and does overpower ASR ...but the stimulus has been sporadic & weak ...this can be strengthened gradually and under correct person can become strong enough for Arnav to emerge ..
Barun Sobti with his eyes radiating contempt ,ruthlessness , detachment ,Power, arrogance was a class act when he strips Mami of her cloak off Raizada bahu, rids her of her sense of superiority , shows her up as a weak and pathetic creature when Raizada protection is voided ...The cold, knowing countenance when Mami comes in meekly accepting the terms of surrender..Subtle acting at its best !!
Finally the track is moving at a steady pace .. proposal last week, alliance this week ...The show has begun to revv up the engine ... where will they take us ..will it be safe landing..
