After his share of limelight, Aman Yatan Verma is sitting 'idol' at his home. The famous TV star is niether talking to anyone nor taking any phone calls. Why? India TV's sting opearation has caught him on a wrong foot.

Here are the excerpts from the coversation with 'aspirant actress' Ruchi who met him for help:

Aman: I will be reaching home in 35 to 40 minutes. So I'll see you at Lokhandwala, Andheri, right.
Ruchi: Ok!
Ruchi: Aapka kya, address to bataeye please.
Aman: M'am, aapko SMS milte nahin mere!
Ruchi: SMS? Aapko SMS karna hai to mein likh leti hoon na, kal bhi aisa hua (sms got lost). I will just note it down. Please tell me.
(Gives address)
Ruchi: Toh mein waha chaar baje pahunch jaaungi.
Aman: Yeah! You come by 4 because I will be there at quarter to four.
Aman meets Ruchi at home
Aman: (Asks undercover reporter to get up) Karisma Kapoor! Yeah!
Ruchi: Yes! Or no?
Aman: Please stand up, turn around.
Aman: Oh la la la…..
Aman: Turn around.
Aman: (Pulls her) Can I see you more closely.
Ruchi: Aman… don't be naughty.
Aman: I am always a naughty man.
Ruchi: Really!
Aman: I am very naughty.
Ruchi: Really?
Aman: Yeah!
(Suhaib Ilyasi enters Verma'shome with the India TV crew)
Ilyasi: Hi Aman.
Aman: Hi, how are you.
Ilyasi: So you are into all this?
Aman: These are the basic facts of life. People…this what they do in the industry. Even I've gone through this at some point of time.
Ilyasi: So you'll also do that.
Aman: I don't do that.
Ilyasi: If you say 'I committed a mistake…'.
Aman: Ok. I committed a mistake.
Aman: I am trying to scare her off by saying 'Don't come here'. I'm not using her. I am trying to scare her so that she decides not to join this dirty industry.
Ilyasi: But… (Aman collapses at Suhaib's feet)
Aman: I'm really sorry…

SUHAIB ILLYASI INTERVIEW

"We will target the couch phenomenon in other industries too..."
Suhaib Ilyasi is a contented man. His India's Most Wanted, which ruled
the roost once on Zee TV, but was currently a lukewarm weekly show on
Rajat Sharma's India TV, has suddenly become the channel driver.
Despite
the slapdash presentation, the near coquettish manner in which the
snares are laid and Suhaib's own unsophisticated style of anchoring,
the
last two episodes have managed to catapult the channel into national
attention.
Suhaib Ilyasi - the crusade's just beginning
After Shakti Kapoor and Aman Verma, we now hear that Suhaib has trapped
a few yesteryear filmstars and scriptwriters into offering careers in
return for sexual favours. Sapana Patil spoke to the producer on
Thursday afternoon to discover that Suhaib is just beginning to warm up
to his
crusade.
Is India TV undertaking these sting operations to increase channel
share and awareness of India TV?
That's a wrong statement. We are very clear about our mission - to
expose the casting couch phenomenon.
Then why do you invite SMSes from viewers? Isn't that being done to
attract revenues too?
SMSes reflect the responses of the people. They congratulate us and
encourage us. About the money part, I would not like to comment.
Who's next on your list? We believe two yesteryear actors have also
been snared by you.
I cannot disclose that.
The video that shows Aman bending and asking for forgiveness does not
show his face.
If you watch closely, you will realise it is Aman.
Do you fear the film industry banning you?
People who do good work have to often suffer such humiliation. But that
will not keep us from exposing the truth.
And what about the threats that you might receive from Bollywood and
underworld?
These are just actors. We have dealt with criminals.
But the lady often seems to be leading Aman into the act. Anyone would
give in to the allurement. She could have firmly refused him instead of
coyly saying "Aman don't be naughty."
How else could we expose Aman? If you notice closely, Aman takes her
into the bedroom and asked her to come close. When she refused, he
scratches his nose wonderingly…
Do you agree that the casting couch exists in other industries?
Yes I do.
Do you intend swooping down on then with cameras?
Yes we do.
Did Balaji Telefilms or Sony Entertainment television get in touch with
you after the Aman episodes were aired?
Why would they? The girl mentioned Balaji merely as part of the story.

The Greatest Khan!!!!

Salman stands strong for Aman Verma!
GAUTAM BURAGOHAIN
INDIATIMES MOVIES

For some people, Salman might be the bad boy of Bollywood, but for
popular TV actor Aman Verma, the Khan has been a knight in shining
armor.
Without even knowing Verma too well, Salman has taken up cudgels for
him
after the infamous TV sting operation involving the popular anchor was
telecast yesterday. When the TV channel started beaming the secretly
filmed scenes, Verma allegedly panicked and stayed holed up at his
parents' house in Delhi.
He is supposed to have called a friend in Mumbai, who casually
mentioned it to Salman. The Khan, in turn, immediately got in touch
with Aman
and, according to sources, advised him to come back to Mumbai and meet
him. Once the two supposedly met in Mumbai, Salman is said to have
offered Aman advice on how to handle the whole situation. The Bollywood
star
also put him in touch with some well-known lawyers.
According to a friend of both men, "Salman had worked with Aman in
'Baghban', but they hardly met during the shooting. However, in spite
of
that, Salman came forward and offered his help to an almost-stranger,
at
the cost of losing goodwill with the TV channel in question. He is also
said to have spoken to his other colleagues from the industry, like
Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan, Suneel Darshan and
Firoz
Nadiadwala, to support Aman.
And the news is that all of them have pledged their support for Verma.
In fact, all of them are supposed to be coming together at a press
conference today, in support of Verma."

conference today, in support of Verma."
The 'common friend', who put Verma on to Salman, adds, "I still
remember, when I took Aman to meet Salman yesterday, Salman was at a
saloon
getting a haircut. Aman was a bit hesitant, wondering whether he should
come back later, when the Khan was free. However, Salman immediately
came out and called Aman inside; after some time, he took Aman outside
and
started walking with him on the road, advising him and also speaking to
Aman's dad in Delhi.
He was kind enough to tell Daddy Verma not to have any ill feelings
towards his son, since he hadn't committed any crime. After that,
Salman
told Aman to follow him in his car, since Salman was riding his mobike.
They then went and sat down at a coffee shop for further discussions.
Once there, both Salman and Aman were hounded for autographs, leading
Salman to tell Aman, 'See, these people have no ill-will towards you.
It's only a matter of time and people will forget this trivial issue.'
It's amazing that while support for Aman has been found wanting from
his own domain of the TV industry, with no one coming out openly in on
his side, Salman has decided to extend his hand to a virtual stranger!"
Aman is extremely grateful to Salman and his family for their
overwhelming support and says, "I don't know what I would have done
without
them. The whole of his family, including his dad, Salim Uncle, and his
mom
console me and offer their support," says Verma.

She's got most of the industry in a tizzy. While some refuse to answer their phones, others have crawled under a rock and hope to never be found.

In light of the fate of their peer Aman Varma at the hands of the infamous "Ruchi", we decided to ask a few TV stars how they would react if someone of the same moniker asked to meet them.

Has the undercover reporter stereotyped all female journalists as sting
operators in the process? Some brave souls ventured an answer, tongue firmly in cheek!

Vikas Sethi (Swayam of Kahiin To Hoga)

Why Ruchi? If any female journalist comes to me I will ask her to leave her mobile phone and purse outside. You never what intentions they may have come with; it's always better to be careful than get stuck in a mess. I would rather meet someone out on the sets than ask someone to come in my trailer.

Sajid Khan (TV anchor)

If a girl named Ruchi calls Sajid Khan, she should be wary of Sajid Khan. Honestly, though, I wouldn't care if a female journalist called me today. I have nothing to hide. I'm not planning on raping anyone. If someone asked me to go meet her, I'd go!

Hiten Tejwani (Karan on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi)

I'd give her the numbers of my friends and ask her to call them up. I wouldn't be wary of meeting a female journalist though. There is no point giving the entire lot a bad name because of what one person did.

Chetan Hansraj (Sasha of Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki)

I'd simply ask her how I could help her. But if a female journalist asked me to meet her alone somewhere, I would definitely be wary.

The whole incident is so sad, because I would now think twice before helping someone out. We all started with some help, but now it will be hard for newcomers to get someone to aid them.

Vir Das (TV anchor)

I would run for the hills! I'd change my cell phone number; uproot all the furniture in my house looking for a hidden camera, and even cavity search myself in case there is a camera on me! Also, when I go meet her, I'll force her to tie me a rakhi.

Seriously, though, if a female journalist asked me to meet her alone today, I would be a little wary given what I know. I know I'm stereotyping the whole lot, but one has to be careful.
