Just off the top of my head, so the real symbolism experts please add on.
1. La drops the phone, Khushi makes a grab for it, but Arnav gets it first.
Symbolizing the fall of Shayam? Khushi tries to take the blame/responsibility, but Arnav steps in and takes it on himself.
2. His hand is not steady. La insists Khushi hold his hand. "Don't listen to him."
He is not as solid as he looks, and needs an anchor in his life, no matter how much he insists he doesn't need one (shown when he refuses to have his hand held, specially by her, claiming he can hold it steady himself). La was and will always be there as mere icing on the cake, but not in a way that really matters. Today she proved that she cannot touch the parts of his soul that matter. And for everything big and small she needs the help of this girl she has been depending on for everything relating to her relationship with ASR.
La also unknowingly sent a very strong message to Khushi today "Don't listen to him" after he angrily said no, and that he could hold his hand steady himself. And she was right, because no matter how angry he gets, or how much he rejects her, his heart of stone will only crack if Khushi refuses to heed his often terrible words, designed to push her away. Later, once Khushi's hands encircled his wrist and held his hand, it stopped shaking. She is the only one in his life who can, and will be his saving grace.
