Parvati informs the family that Krishna has actually gone to live with Pallavi. Krishna returns to his mother and is welcomed with open arms. Pallavi goes to the Agarwal mansion and claims that now Krishna can live his life because he is free of their interference and now he is Pallavi Agarwal's son. Gayatri and Samir have an argument and Shruti tries to talk to Gayatri about it but she brushes Shruti off and asks her to mind her own business. Pallavi goes to Gill mansion and Anjana tells her that Harshana is in Chandigarh. She also reveals that Gayatri was born in Amritsar. Pallavi decides to go to Amritsar.

Pallavi arrives in Amritsar and finds herself outside the hospital Anjana mentioned. She goes inside and asks to speak to an old nurse. When the nurse arrives Pallavi tells her that she needs to check on some birth records. The nurse takes Pallavi to check on the records and asks her if there is anyone in particular she wants to find out about. When Pallavi says that she is looking for information on Gayatri Gill the nurse gets upset and tells her to look for the birth records herself and leaves on the pretence of having something else to do. Pallavi checks the records of 1978 and finds that there was only one delivery made on the 17th of March, that of Gayatri Gill, the daughter of Anjana and Harpreet Gill. Pallavi is confused and wonders what could be wrong and where. She leaves the record room and is wondering what mishap could have taken place when she overhears the nurse talking about her to someone else.
Pallavi eavesdrops and then sees the nurse talking to another woman about Gayatri. The woman asks the nurse if she is sure nothing went wrong with the children and Pallavi is confused on that statement. The nurse remembers something and says that they will have to go to a temple and ask the priest who blessed the children about it. The other woman tells the nurse that they have to first find out who has come to check up on Gayatri's birth records. The two of them head to the record room and Pallavi follows them. When they walk out of the record room Pallavi stops them and turns the other woman around to find that it is none other than Harshana herself. Pallavi asks what she's doing in Amritsar as she was supposed to be in Chandigarh. Harshana tries to cover up but Pallavi tells her that she overheard them and lays down her concerns about Gayatri. Harshana finally agrees to let Pallavi come along with them to get to the bottom of things.
The three women head to the temple and are informed of the priest's whereabouts. Meanwhile back in Mumbai Parvati tries to convince Shruti to have some fun with her life and not only be engrossed in her work. Shruti tells her mother that she knows that this conversation will end with a talk on marriage. Parvati questions Shruti about it and Shruti says that she wants to focus on her work and doesn't want to get sidetracked and she never wants to discuss the topic of marriage again. Shruti then says that they should invite Gayatri and Samir for dinner and Parvati suggests that they invite all the families so that the three families can finally meet up again. Shruti agrees and leaves with Parvati wondering if her daughter will ever marry again.
Elsewhere in Amritsar the three women find the priest's house and go to see him. He welcomes them and Harshana explains herself and asks if he remembers the day of the blessing. The priest says that age has caught up with him and he can barely remember anything. Harshana says that it was on the 7th of April when there were riots in Amritsar and Pallavi flashes with surprise as the date holds apparent significance for her. Suddenly the priest starts to remember and we go into flashback…
… Harshana and the nurse arrive with baby Gayatri at the temple where they hand over the child for a blessing. The baby is then wrapped in red cloth and out of nowhere the riots break out. The temple is closed up and all the people inside start praying. Meanwhile a woman we don't see gives birth to a child in all the rush and the nurse delivers the baby. The priest gives that baby girl a blessing too and wraps her in red cloth as well. He walks around an alter and we end our flashback…
… Harshana asks the priest if there is any possibility that the two girls may have been mixed up at any point. The priest says that it shouldn't have happened but it is a possibility. Harshana is thrown into shock. Pallavi asks Harshana if she remembers who the other woman was who delivered the child at the temple. Harshana says she can't remember but it's clear in her eyes that she does and is afraid to say anything. Pallavi asks her if she's lying and Harshana blankly says that she really doesn't remember. Pallavi leaves her side and then tells herself that though Harshana Gill may not remember who was born on the 7th of April, Pallavi Agarwal remembers and she has a very good idea as to who the other baby was!
On the next Kahaani
Pallavi returns to Mumbai with shocking news and Harshana panics, as things get intense. Both women know the truth but whilst one wants to hide it the other is waiting for the perfect forum to bring it out.
