Lets see who has the last laugh.
This post by me was requested by Pooja since I don't write daily and so thought weekly once looking back at all the epis will be fun too for me in the weekend. Many of you here may know me and for the uninitiated I am Doodle. I prefer to run away from my real name for certain reasons. Just kidding. Call me Doodle any time.
Dits your first song choice for today as your title made me listen to the song several times. I love love love mera kuch samaan. But that can come as we discussed in the later stages. Your post and dialogues fab as always.
Lets start reviewing. When I started to watch IPK from the very first episode, I vowed not to analyze. I did a lot in the Geet days before my break but then stopped. After a long time I started this week to pen down something because I couldn't resist to rest my thoughts. If I do any mistakes do let me know.
We already knew that this week would be promising but never knew that it would take a 360 deg. turn. What a volte-face??? I have never seen such an impulsive fictional character. Imagine if he would have been real? Would you still care to fall in love with this man? In reality its all so complicated but in silver screen the creatives, director and the producers are God, who are humans and love happy ending and they are run by the so called TRPs and audience. So, no worries. Arnav and Khushi will be together anyway.
As expected Arnav will be mesmerized by her and she too sensed there's something special (brewing) between them. The concentric circled diya scene from where Arnav managed to bring her out (even though he was engrossed in her completely) was good. I loved his satisfaction when he saw Khushi first time for the day. Gradually Laa been accepted by Naani made path for the future track. Arnav ' Khushi lost in each other' all fine. Yeah forgot the Snake's (Shyam ' I prefer to call him that) pineapple drama' fine. Then the most awaited romantic scene ' Payal. I won't describe the scene but rather would say few words. ASR a man of great stature, self-made personality, a business tycoon kneeled down to attend the hurt of a girl not-so-rich, not of his stature etc.etc. ---does it ring a bell??? There is no EGO in love but there is EGO in acceptance. There will be. Can you ever imagine a persona like ASR touching the ankle of a girl, his employee to fix? This is love and he submitted himself through this act. It was one of the most romantic scenes ever telecasted on TV. Its so beautiful on its own. But the dawn of the truth is crude. Its cruel. The moment he realized he in love, realization of his "The first love" and that she too is' he went and made the most impulsive decision he has ever made, I guess. We all knew ASR would do this. As he said to Anj many a times that if at all that girl comes in his life he'll stay away from her - and that's what he did that day.
All the episodes in a row this week are heart wrenching. The best part of Wednesday's epi was when ASR announced his wedding and the intense pain thru the eyelocks that was conveyed between the leads. The whole world was celebrating unaware of the fact that two hearts were burning in hell amidst them.
The concept of the story is not altered at all as always happens with 4 Lions. But should we really blame the PH for this. I guess not. Channel does play an important role in this. Its very tough when you sketch the story ahead and the channel does cancel it on your face. How can the writers come up with a spectacular story line over night??? Its tough.
His big announcement was an impulsive decision. But I guess he never had that intention. This all happened because of the situation. His almost submission to Khushi at the pool side, then his running away from embarrassment, Khushi's quest for answers and then the family was attacked by outsiders. These factors made him take the ultimate decision of doing something he never believed in just because to stay away from the one person he loves the most. He had seen the opportunity to stay away from Khushi and as a good businessman he grabbed it. If his family wouldn't have been attacked then he would not have taken this decision...and then how would the story move forward with Khushi also agreeing to her engagement and then how would we see the declaration of love???
The best is in this battle of heart v/s mind its the heart (Love) that had won on that day i.e; thursday ...'coz Arnav left every imp discussion that was going back home and came in search of his princess in red and drop her home.
Then there was the best scene of IPK till date. There can never be any replacement of the Car Scene. In two words it was "Crude Truth".
Arnav was so confused on seeing her reacting a 360 turn when he saw her in tears just a while ago. I loved the fact when Arnav finally thought his mind won over his heart, the downfall of his mind kicked in the moment he saw Khushi playing him straight at his face. I love Khushi's character portrayal. What a girl...way to go. How she acted to be happy for him and decided to be part of the celebration founded on the destruction of her dreams.
Then the final angst in Arnav came in the form of Khushi's answer abt payal. I am glad she said the question abt payal is not important now. That irritated him to the core and he wanted to get to the real Khushi behind the mask. He could never stand that she is indifferent about what happened between them that night and Arnav didn't come for that. He came for answers instead she declined his questions aggravated the anger in him. Then he went to return his purse to show her that even the moment and payal both are unimportant to him. He came just to torment her more so that she breaks down and give in and he'll get his answers. This is not the first time Arnav spoke harsh with her but today was different. God Damn it!!! He loves her yet he taunted knowing very well that she loves him too. Only because she didn't want to hear about the payal. But when he didn't he used his last straw in the form of his famous taunt ' she being a gold digger. But still she didn't at least infront of him but her world came crashing down in her own comfort zone, her bedroom, she realized she is in love with him. He is indeed her "First Love".
Just before she agreed to the alliance with Shyam she remembered only those words said by Arnav a while ago and decided to give in as she saw no hope from her man. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. No hope.
Its been said that "Fear of losing" is biggest fear in love. Arnav has no idea that his entire ego will go down the drain when he'll have the "fear of losing" the one who resides in his heart. Like Anj said to him once, the feeling your love going away will make you lose your breath and he laughed out but eventually he will lose his breath. This week Khushi sensed of losing something valuable and Arnav has nooo idea of this side of the pain which he will know eventually. I sooo sooo wanna see his reaction when he'll learn of her engagement. That would be a treat to watch the battle between Arnav v/s love stricken Arnav portraying ASR.
The marriage won't happen though as I sense but I don't see any way the engagement will be stopped. That'll happen.
I felt bad for Laa as Arnav should have come clear with her. He would have, I thought, if the family incident and his moment with Khushi wouldn't have happened. Laa is the only shield ASR has for himself, to hide himself. She doesn't even stir any feelings within him, be it emotionally or physically. I just don't know why she is with him in the first place??? She is not his friend or GF. But I feel bad for her or should I??? She is educated but I feel she doesn't know the difference between infatuation and love. Also I hope if Khushi has really transformed her then she would understand that holding on to a relationship which is meaningless is pure foolishness and she herself will handover Arnav to Khushi. That would be the most gracious exit I would love to watch instead of making her a vamp.
Then Buaji. Actally fans made her evil. She is not and cares for her bro's family and thinks Shyam as a good and genuine person. She cares too much and her intention is not bad but her ways are also not pretty sweet. The day she comes to know about his real identity she'll kill him.
Lastly, the snake has used his last straw. He is laughing though. Will he be able to make it to the last??? I guess not. Sometimes we say to God why evil grow higher in his/her mission. But do they really? My Dad says because it's easier for God to uproot the tree from its entire root underground if the tree is tall and strong. The last laugh will always be of the righteous.
Oh yeah I wrote this in one of the posts yesterday that I loved the innuendo - "Kyun saale shaab , aap bhi humare gadhi mein sawar ho gaye naa"...hahaha..he'll know the meaning later on. Must say am waiting to see Shyam's reaction when he realizes that he unknowingly made plans to play with the beast's most valuable assets - Anjali and Khushi. Waiting for the day when Arnav sees his true colors. The forum will have it's Diwali again.
Happy Weekend and Enjoy.
I just donno why I am constantly been reminded of this song - "Khush raho tum sada yeh dua hai meri"...from Khushi's POV.
Do please let us know if you liked this weekly review.
