Guidelines for Members(Old/New)

Hello Members.

Here are a few Basic Rules which need to be Followed by members of the CID Forum at all times.

These are the rules which apply to India-Forums as a whole.

CID Forum Information -

The CID Archive Mansion 2011 contains links to all important threads on our forum. Please visit it regularly.

For CID related queries please use CID Queries - Ask here

New Topics - Before posting a New Topic, please check the first 2-3 pages to see if there is a topic on the similar subject. If there is one then please continue the discussion in that topic. Posting multiple topics on the same subject wastes forum space and also counts as spam. Any such similar/same subject topics opened will be closed/deleted.

Polls - A Poll opened on any important issue to get the views of members of the forum is fine, but opening polls everyday and about the same thing eg. "Hottest Actor" "Fav. Character" "Who looks better" " Worst Actor" "Worst Case" etc. will not be allowed, as such polls just end up in chatting or fights and hurt the feelings of members of the forum.

The Dev. Team requests members to open interesting discussion topics, instead of opening comparison polls. Any such polls opened will be closed or trashed by the Dev. Team.

No CAPS - Posting in all Capital Letters is not permitted. This represents "shouting" on the internet and can be viewed as offensive. In order to stress a word or a couple of words that can be written in Capitals or in Bold, but please DO NOT write the whole post in Capitals or Bold or large font size.

No Personal Attacks / No Bashing - Bashing is NOT allowed here!!! That goes for members, actors, characters and Dev. Team members. Please keep in mind that when you bash a character or an actor it may hurt the feelings of other members of the forum and can cause conflict on the forum.Some members have the habit of taking pot shots at fellow members including the Dev. Team, especially if they make any post criticizing something regarding the show or a pair. Please DO NOT take personal digs at members including the Dev. Team nor make fun of them or their posts. Be prepared to hear criticisms as well, to get more participation discussions are needed and not just praises. If you feel the criticism is wrong, reply to it properly within the limits of IF COC. What some of you are doing is breaking the COC.

No Advertising - Advertising is STRICTLY AGAINST the IF COC. Advertising other forums thru Video links is considered as spamming. Such topics will be trashed and a Warning PM will be sent to you right away. If you choose to ignore the warning, your Warning Level will be raised.

Bashing Dev. Team Members is strictly against IF Rules. Warning Levels will be raised of members found bashing the Dev. Team. If you have any issues contact the section Dev Team by PM and sort it out. No personal attack direct / indirect, abusive / sarcastic, within or outside the forum shall be tolerated. Do remember that Moderators too have feelings just like you and any bashing would hurt their feelings.

Lets all live in Peace and Harmony and enjoy healthy discussions. If you have any problems you can always contact the Dev. Team.

Privacy - Posting Email addresses or Private information about the cast or members is not allowed. The internet is a useful but also a dangerous place. Giving away your email address or personal information could create problems for you.

NO COMMENT - Please DO NOT post comments in Topics labeled as "NO COMMENTS". They will be trashed by the Dev. Team, and you will be sent a Warning PM and by the 3rd time your warning meter will be raised upto 20%

DO NOT COPY PASTE TELLY BUZZ ARTICLES

- Remember someone has given effort while writing and editing the entire article for us but when you lift the article you are depriving the writer off his/her credit. We encourage you to go read the article and rate the post to appreciate the efforts by the authors and reporters.

Fan Creations - While making Siggys and Avis do keep in mind the contents of your signature do not offend a member or does not criticize an actor in anyway. The signatures should be posted in CID Creative Corner II at all times.

Similar Topics ' This is a sincere request to all members. Please DO NOT open multiple topics on the same or similar content. This is in no way meant to discourage members from posting topics, but its a request with the view to be fair to all posters and all topics. Cause if all similar topics come to page 1 then other topics which are equally interesting and important and of varied nature go to page 2 and receive less views and replies and sometimes totally ignored.

Topics of Comparison-Please refrain yourself from creating topics that may lead into fights. Topics like 'Who is better suited for the role' or 'Which show is better' or 'Who looks good' etc. Such topics will be closed down.

No Chatting/Spamming-Refrain yourself from chatting/spamming on the forum. Don't to start your personal chats in threads opened for various subjects/discussion topics. Please try to stick to the topic title when posting replies.

General Discussions : Discussions which do not fall into any existing thread and those which don't require a new thread are to be discussed in the 'General Discussions' threads which will usually be on the first or second page of the forum and it is a very active thread. Some amount of chit-chat is permitted, but please do not use it to say just 'hi' and 'bye' everyday.

Birthdays/celebrations: This is a place to have fun, therefore we would love to celebrate birthdays of our forum members and actors of CID. But please do not use this forum to celebrate birthdays of non-members. Birthdays of reasonably active members will alone be posted. It is not necessary to post 100 posts in a day to be termed as 'active'. Popping in once in a while and making your presence felt on this forum is sufficient. People of other forums/fan clubs alone/ex-members who don't visit CID forum any more are requested not to use this forum as a celebrations venue.

Expectations - I think the CID cast/producers/directors work as a team and as a family and that is why they are successful in giving us such a good show to watch. I feel each and every actor in the serial is important and has a role to play and is doing it very well and its all a team effort.

It is understandable that at times the story may not go according to our wishes or the actors do not perform as per our expectations. Every member has a right to express their views, express them and move forward, instead of holding yourself to that one point, try to enjoy the serial as a whole. But please remember our forum has members of all age groups, therefore please continue discussions that are suitable for all ages.

Remember- CID is a crime investigation show not a show for kitchen politics (hook ups/break ups). You will not see actors getting married or hanging around in parks or singing songs in the rain. You will see some fantastic officers who are fighting against various crimes every weekends. Therefore when you create a fan fiction or a discussion please keep in mind that CID is a CRIME INVESTIGATING DEPARTMENT

These are Very Basic Guidelines which i'm sure most of you should be aware of. Please follow these at all times while posting in the section

A few important guidelines to be followed are mentioned on the second post. Please read them carefully.

1. There are a few new members opening 'polls' instead of 'post'. Kindly pay attention to what you are opening. There are 2 separate buttons - New Poll and New Topic. Pls check this.

2. Of late I have seen some members using extremely large size moving smilies in their posts. While these are ok once in a while, seeing them too frequently is a bit ..you know...(irritating is too strong a word). Pls don't use them too frequently.

3. New comers writing stories - please use [MEMBERS ONLY] and [NO COPY] to prevent your work from being copied elsewhere. (while using them don't use space between the words MEMBERS and ONLY and NO and COPY)

4. Kindly avoid opening new threads for minor issues like which is the episode - etc. There is a CID Queries - Ask here thread. This thread is present on the front page among the 'Forum Important Topics'.

5. Please don't post replies in the Pic Gallery. There is a 'Comments on pic gallery' thread. Please locate it using search box on the right side.

6. Familiarise yourself with this website. Pls go thru old posts and get a feel of this forum.

7. I have answered PMs from many new members on how to post a picture on this forum. Here's the answer.

Go to www.imageshack.com or www.photobucket.com . Upload your jpeg file there. It will give you a URL.

On top of the message box here, you have an 'image' icon, which has the picture of a mountain and a sun. Click that...it will ask for the URL. Paste the URL which you got from tinypic and submit it.

8. This forum is for discussing CID and related topics (and some off-topic stuff which many people like). Most people prefer to use PMs to discuss matters which they prefer not to discuss in the open.

PMs are not like a chatroom to say 'Hi' or make friends with unknown people. As you become regular members and post interesting messages some people become your friends, but it takes time. In case someone doesn't reply to a 'Hi' PM, please do not assume that you are not welcome in this forum.

9. Please avoid bringing old, outdated posts to page 1. Do go thru old posts, but pls don't reply to them.

10. Some of our members have taken the responsibility of opening threads for specific purposes.

Forum responsibilities - volunteers

Let's allow these members to perform their duties and not take it upon ourselves. In case they are unavailable for some reason, they'll let us know.

11. If a thread is irrelevant or is leading to controversies, the mod has the right to close it. Other members do not have the access to such controls. Members can view the names of the people who are on the development team on top of the forum main page. Kindly avoid taking offence. If you have any issues, please contact -Nadii- or visrom.

12. When a responsible member sees a new unnecessary thread posted by any member, pls avoid replying, just to say that this is unnecessary.

I read the posts and gadhadada's stories and know a few names of that thread. I'm 16 and study in 11th, Daya's b'day is approaching, wow!
