GEC Watch: Zee's Sapne Suhane tops chart; Nach Baliye continues to rule weekend

Star Plus leads with 4 shows followed by Zee TV with 3 shows, Colors with 2 and SAB with 1 show in top 10 weekday shows

Week 6 (February 3 – 9) of TAM 2013 has got new chart topper as Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke dislodged Colors' Balika Vadhu from No. 1 position. According to TAM data sourced from TAM subscribers, Star Plus continued to lead with four shows among the top 10 weekday programmes followed by Zee TV with three shows, Colors with two and SAB with one show.

Nach Baliye 5 on Star Plus continued as the most watched show during the weekend. Sony's crime shows, CID and Crime Patrol, grabbed the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively. Nautanki on Colors dropped in the second week.

Celebrity Cricket League on Star Plus scored 1.8 TVR over 3 hours on Sunday.

Weekday toppers

Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke took a big leap in Week 6 and climbed 6 positions up to become the week's No. 1 show. The show recorded an average TVR of 4.3 (last week 3.8).

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus held No. 2 position with an average TVR of 4.2 (last week 4.1).

Colors' Balika Vadhu could not hold eyeballs and slipped to No. 3 this week. The show averaged at 3.9 TVR this week (last week 4.7).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus climbed four positions to No. 4 this week. The show garnered an average rating of 3.9 TVR (last week 3.7).

Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard Hai also climbed four positions to No. 5 with improved ratings of 3.9 this week (last week 3.4).

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma dropped to an average TVR of 3.8 against last week's 4.0 TVR. The show slipped three positions to No. 3.

Star Plus' fiction show, Saathiya, has slipped 2 positions to No. 7 this week. The show averaged at 3.6 TVR this week (last week 3.9).

Zee TV's Qubool Hai entered the top 10 club at No. 8 this week with 3.3 TVR (last week 3.1).

Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV held No. 9 position with an average of 3.3 TVR (last week 3.3).

Sasural Simar Ka on Colors slipped six positions to No. 10 this week and garnered an average TVR of 3.1 this week (last week 4.0).

Weekend toppers

Star Plus' Nach Baliye 5 continued to rule weekend programming despite a drop in Week 6 of TAM 2013. The show fetched an average of 3.0 TVR (last week 3.5).

Sony's crime show, CID, recorded an average TVR of 2.8 (last week 2.8).

Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, fetched 2.5 TVR this week (last week 2.7).

Colors' comedy show, Nautanki, dropped in the second week after its launch and recorded an average TVR of 2.1 (last week 2.9).

Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe on Sony averaged 2.1 TVR (last week 2.7).

Fear Files on Zee TV garnered an average rating of 1.8 TVR this week (last week 1.2).

Star Plus' crime fiction Arjun has fetched 1.6 TVR (last week 1.9).

GEC Watch:  Week 7 of 2013

 

While both Star Plus and Zee TV have lost GRPs in Week 7, Sony and Colors have marginally grown the numbers, all remaining at their respective positions, as per the data (C&S, 4+, HSM) provided by one of the TAM subscribers.

The second rung general entertainment channel (GEC) from STAR India's stable, Life OK has moved ahead of the second rung GEC of Multi Screen Media, SAB TV, by scoring 142 GRPs (up from last week's 124 points) in Week 7. Life OK now stands at No. 5, while SAB TV has slipped to No. 6 with 136 points (up from last week's 132 GRPs), despite the fact that its flagship property Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltaah Chashmah continues to be among the Top 5 shows of the week.

Meanwhile, this week too, Star Plus continues to be on the top, losing five points over the week. The channel has garnered 259 GRPs in the current week, against 264 GRPs of last week (Week 6).

Zee TV remained at No. 2 by clocking 226 GRPs (down from last week's 243 GRPs). Though Viacom18's Colors has dropped its ratings marginally, garnering 205 GRPs in Week 7 of 2013, the channel has maintained its position at No. 3.

Continuing at the No. 4 position in the top GECs list, Sony has garnered 164 GRPs, up from last week's 160 GRPs. At No. 7, Sahara One has registered 26 GRPs, up from 24 GRPs that it had garnered last week.

Diya Aur Baati Hum (Star Plus) leads the list of the 10 most-watched programmes, clocking a TVR of 5.0, followed by another Star Plus property, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain at No. 2 with 4.9 TVRs.

At No. 3, Colors' Balika Vadhu acquired 4.7 TVRs. Next in the list is Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke (4.6 TVRs). At No. 5, Colors' Sasural Simar Ka and SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah share the spot with 4.2 TVRs.

Star's Pyaar Ka Dard Hai stands at No. 6 with 4.1 TVRs. The seventh position is shared by Zee TV's Qubool Hai and Star Plus' Saathiya Saath Nibhana, which have clocked TVRs of 3.7 each.

Lastly, Mahadev (Life OK) garnered 3.6 TVRs, being the 10th most watched programme in Week 7 of 2013.

GEC Watch: Colors rises to No. 2 with five shows in top 10

Khiladi 786's screening on Colors garnered 5.1 TVRs, and was the most watched programme on Hindi GECs in Week 8.

Star Plus, while still the No. 1 Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC), has lost numbers in Week 30, as per the data provided by TAM subscribers. The channel's GRPs have declined from 259 points in Week 7 to 248 points in Week 8 (C&S, 4+, HSM).

Colors, at No. 2, has gained 30 points, mainly on the back of the premier of Akshay Kumar starrer Khiladi 786. It has recorded 235 GRPs in the latest week. Five of its shows - including the movie - were also among the 10 most watched shows on Hindi GECs.

Zee has slipped to No 3, despite adding five points to last week's ratings. The channel acquired 231 GRPs in Week 8 of 2013.

Sony continues to be at No. 4 with 188 GRPs, up from last week's 164 points.

Life OK has maintained last week's position at the fifth spot. The channel has garnered 144 GRPs, while the erstwhile fifth ranker, SAB, is now at No. 6. SAB has gained two points to clock 138 GRPs in Week 8 of 2013.

Sahara One garnered 24 GRPs.

The screening of Khiladi 786 on Colors got it 5.1 TVRs, making it the most watched programme on Hindi GECs in Week 8 of 2013.

On the list of top 10 programmes, Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum (5 TVRs) and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (4.6 TVRs) are at No. 2 and 3 spots, with the respective peak TVRs. Balika Vadhu, also on Colors, is at No. 4 and recorded a TVR of 4.5; followed by Qubool Hai on Zee, which has garnered 4.4 TVRs.

This is followed by Sasural Simar Ka (Colors) and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (SAB TV), which have got TVRs of 4.3 and 4.2, respectively. The other shows in the top 10 list are Pavitra Rishta (Zee TV) and Madhubala (Colors) at No. 8 with 4.1 TVRs; Saathiya Saath Nibhana (Star Plus) and Uttaran (Colors) at No. 10 with 4 TVRs.

Pyar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus and Sapne Suhane Ladakpan ke on Zee TV recorded 3.9 TVRs.

GEC Watch: Diya Aur Baati rules weekday programming; IBD remains weekend topper

Star Plus continues to lead the top 10 weekday programmes list with four shows followed by Colors with 3, Zee TV with 2 and SAB with 1 show

Both weekday and weekend toppers of last week – Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum and Zee TV's India's Best Dramebaaz (IBD) – have become stronger this week. According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 9 (February 24 – March 2) of TAM 2013, Star Plus continued to lead the charts with four shows among the top 10 weekday sows followed by Colors with three, Zee TV with two and SAB with one show.

Among the new show launches, Saraswatichandra debuted with 2.1 TVR which is Star Plus's highest launch week rating for a weekday fiction show in the last 18 months. Competing with Saraswatichandra, Sony had launched new fiction show Khoobsurat in the same slot which opened at 1.0 and averaged at 0.8 TVR for the first week.

Weekday toppers

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus strengthened its position at No. 1. It garnered an average TVR of 5.9 (last week 4.6).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus climbed one position to No. 2 with an average rating of 4.4 TVR (last week 4.2).

Colors' Balika Vadhu slipped one position to No. 3 in Week 9. The show averaged at 4.2 TVR this week (last week 4.3).

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma continued to hold the No. 4 position with 3.9 TVR against last week's 3.8 TVR.

Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke climbed two positions to No. 5 this week. The show recorded an average TVR of 3.8 (last week 3.6).

Madhubala on Colors was at No. 6 with an average TVR of 3.7 (last week 3.8).

Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard Hai climbed three positions to No. 7 with average TVR of 3.5 this week (last week 3.5).

Star Plus' Saathiya held the No. 8 position this week with an average of 3.3 TVR (last week 3.6).

Colors' other fiction show, Sasural Simar Ka, slipped three positions to No. 9 with an average TVR of 3.2 this week (last week 3.7).

Zee TV's Qubool Hai was at No. 10 this week with 3.1 TVR (last week 3.5).

Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, fetched 2.4 TVR this week (last week 1.9).

Fear Files on Zee TV garnered an average rating of 2.3 TVR this week (last week 2.0).

Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe on Sony averaged 2.1 TVR (last week 1.9).

Star Plus' crime fiction, Arjun, also saw a decline recording 1.4 TVR (last week 1.1).

Sony's Adalat fetched 1.3 TVR this week (last week 1.1).

GEC Watch: Star Plus is only GEC to grow

Zee TV wins a close fight for No. 2 position with a margin of one point from Colors in Week 10 of TAM

Star Plus emerged as the only Hindi GEC to grow for the second consecutive week. According to viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for the CS 4+, HSM markets, Week 10 (March 3 – 9) saw an intense battle for No. 2 position with Zee TV edging out Colors by just one point. Sony, SAB TV and Life OK remained at No. 4, 5 and 6, respectively.

Riding high on the back of 'Diya Aur Baati Hum', Star Plus added a few points. As the only Hindi GEC to grow for the second week in a row, the channel clocked 271 GRPs (last week 265).

A slight drop in ratings of India's Best Dramebaaz and Sapne Suhane has put Zee TV in close competition with Colors for the No. 2 position which Zee won by one point. The channel garnered 215 GRPs this week (last week 226).

Backed by improved fiction shows and Mirchi Music Awards,Colors managed to fetch 214 GRPs this week (last week 220).

A drop of 15 GRPs has brought Sony Entertainment Television to its lowest rating in almost 18 months. The channel garnered 155 GRPs (last week 170).

SAB TV held on to its No. 5 position firmly with 135 GRPs (last week 138).

At No. 6, Life OK recorded 126 GRPs (last week 132).

Star Utsav garnered 55 GRPs in Week 10 (last week 56).
