Disturbing Behavior
Chicago Klaus and Stefan drink in the middle of the day while Rebecca tries on dresses in a shop. She thinks women of the 21st century dress like prostitutes. Klaus is pouting that Rebecca lost her necklace. Stefan goes outside for air and is beckoned by Katherine across the street. Back home, Elena makes chili for the Founder's Picnic. It's an old family recipe. "I knew your family, and they made sucky chili," Damon says. They have a cutesy moment, which Ric observes and disapproves of. Damon thinks Elena is in denial about Stefan. He points out she's still wearing his necklace, a reminder of her "unbreakable bond" with Stefan. Katherine guesses that Elena has Rebecca's necklace. He says he has it under control. She doubts his diabolical planning skills and reminds him Klaus is smarter than him. She warns him against Rebecca. Jeremy wakes up next to Anna. She's been trying to get through to him for days, yelling at him, and he just now heard her. He says he was dreaming about her. Anna explains that for her to break through from the other side they essentially have to be thinking about each other at the same time. Caroline arrives at Elena's, also bearing chili. Bonnie is with her, back from her summer away. Jeremy hugs her, happy to see her. But he's still seeing Anna. Damon catches up with Sheriff Forbes. "Mayor Lockwood called your gay ex-husband to torture your vampire daughter?" he says. She's been detaining Bill to get the vervane out of his system so Damon can compel him. Damon wants to kill him instead, but she says no. She leads him down to the basement of the city jail, built in 1860. He's held in the same chair where he tortured Caroline. Damon takes a quick bite of his neck to check that the vervane is gone, then Bill tells him the mind can be taught to overcome almost anything. (Hello, foreshadowing!) Damon compels Bill, telling him all he'll remember is he came to town to go back-to-school shopping with Caroline. In Chicago, Gloria isn't making much progress locating the necklace. Back in Mystic Falls, Elena is in her kitchen with Bonnie and Caroline when her necklace singes her skin. She takes it off and hands it to Bonnie. Bonnie reaches for it and gets sort of an electric shock. In Chicago, Gloria announces she found it. She says there's a girl with her friends, but that's all she has. She throws Klaus out to concentrate. At the Founder's Picnic, Bonnie sits down with a book to work on a finding spell. Caroline quizzes Elena on the deal with Damon. She says there is none. As Bonnie is looking up the spell, the necklace starts raising into the air. It has its own magic. Ric tells Damon to take a break from Elena. Sheriff Forbes comes to get Damon for the council meeting. Klaus and Stefan feed on women as Rebecca pouts. Stefan gets up to leave, Klaus assumes he's going to write a name on a wall. Jeremy finds a private room in the Lockwood house to meet with Anna. She says she feels something whenever he sees Vicki. She tells him to try not to let Vicki in. She says she's all alone on the other side and is so glad to have him to talk to. She touches his hand, he wants to feel it. Stefan visits Gloria. He knew she was holding back. She heard the girls say his name. She wants the necklace and threatens to narc on him. He tries to attack her, but she freezes him in place, saying she'll find it the hard way. He ends up frozen in place on a table, with candles all around. She slices open both of his arms then sticks silver in to keep it from healing. His blood collects in bowls. She rubs vervane on her hands and presses them on his chest, burning him. In the meeting, Sheriff Forbes reports that everything has been quiet. Damon backs her up. After the meeting, Bill shows up. "Do you three think everyone else on the council is clueless, or just stupid?" he asks. In her room, Jeremy helps Bonnie look through books for a spell. He asks why she doesn't ask the witches and she finally tells him they cut her off for bringing him back to life. She asks how he's doing and he says he's fine. Suddenly, Anna appears, warning him the darkness is there. Bonnie's spell books burst into flames. She uses an incantation to put them out. Bonnie has no idea what happened. Gloria continues torturing Damon with vervane burns, seeing into his memories. She sees that he loves Elena, then she sees Klaus feeding on her and realizes she's the doppelganger and is still alive, which is why Klaus can't make hybrids. She's processing this new information when Katherine appears out of nowhere and stabs her in the neck. Elena and Caroline get ready to leave the party when Caroline sees her dad and they leave. Damon catches up outside and tells them they have a problem with Bill Forbes: he's impervious to compulsion. "He threatened to out me- don't get me started on the irony of that," Damon says. Bill wants to control the council and put vervane in the town's water supply. Elena suggests it might not be such a bad idea since Stefan isn't around to help him control his urges. Damon wishes he'd killed Bill. Ric tells him to let it go. Damon gets tired of being managed and snaps Ric's neck, infuriating Elena. Katherine and Gloria clean up Gloria's as she tries to figure out his plan. She thinks he's bonding with Klaus by shunning Rebecca, making her want him even more. She asks his plan. He tells her he knew them back in the 20s and they were running from a hunter. "Don't you want to know why an original vampire that can't be killed is afraid of a vampire hunter?" Stefan says. Katherine wants in on his plan, but he turns her down. Stefan carries Gloria's body away. Tyler comes up to his room to find Caroline waiting for him. She helps him out of his football practice clothes. They're interrupted by her phone ringing. Elena says it's an emergency. Damon chats up Bill Forbes. He's says he's counting on the idea that Damon's not self-destructive enough to kill the sheriff's ex-husband. "That makes you the the third person to under-estimate me today," Damon says. Then he chomps down on Bill's neck. He comes up for air, saying he's not going to Bill, he's just enjoying the moment. He chomps down again, but Caroline busts it and tosses Damon off him. She throws him against a wall and then throw the door. She bites herself and offers her blood to her dad, who declines. "Grow up," she says, and feeds him. Caroline tells Damon to knock it off, but he fights her back and gets her pinned. He's stronger than her, but she's angrier. She throws Damon off her again and whisks her dad away. Elena comes in, upset, telling him he can't act like this if he's going to stay in town. He doesn't appreciate everyone trying to keep him in check. She tells him she wishes he wouldn't act like a vampire. "I'm not Stefan, how about you stop trying to turn me into him?" Damon says, then storms out. Bonnie cleans up her charred books. Anna visits Jeremy in the bathroom. He tells her not to pop up every time he's with Bonnie. She reminds him it's a two-way street and she can only come when he's thinking of her. Anna thinks that's why he hasn't told Bonnie about her, because he doesn't want her to know he still cares. He says good-bye to Anna and shuts her out. Then he goes in the other room and tells Bonnie what's been going on. In the corner, Anna yells to get through, but he doesn't listen. She sobs that she's all alone. Stefan returns to the warehouse full of dead Klaus siblings. Rebecca is there, but Klaus is checking on Gloria. Stefan asks who they were running from the last night he saw them. She tells him Klaus wouldn't want her to tell, so he backs off. Klaus told her why Stefan was staying, she thinks Klaus admires him for sacrificing himself for Damon. She kisses him and asks if he'll ever love anyone like he loved Elena. He says maybe and she calls him out for lying. Klaus returns. She tells him something is wrong with Stefan, that he was asking about Michael. She tells Klaus that Stefan isn't with them. Klaus charges Stefan. Back in Mystic Falls, Damon makes himself a cocktail, and one for Ric who is dead on the couch. He finally comes back to life. Damon points out it took longer than usual, maybe Ric should get the ring checked. Ric realizes Damon killed him. "You pissed me off," Damon says. Damon says no hard feelings, he was on a tear and tired of everyone telling him what to do. Ric suggests that maybe everyone just realized Damon's a d---. Caroline tells Elena "I told you so" about Damon. Caroline tries to get Elena to admit she's attracted to Damon. She's worried what that would say about her. Caroline says it would just mean she's human. Caroline sees her dad walking by and goes to talk to him. He assures her he's going to go back home before someone kills him. He thanks her for rescuing him. She tells him she'll be OK. "You're a vampire, sweetheart, I don't think you'll ever be OK again," he says, with pity. Ric makes his case to Sheriff Forbes and Mayor Lockwood to join the council. He thinks someone needs to look after the humans, since their children have made them biased. Elena meets Bonnie outside the grill. She asks for her necklace back. Bonnie tells her Jeremy has been seeing Vicki and Anna as ghosts. Elena is gone in a flash. Damon opens his door for Elena. But she giggles at him and he realizes it's Katherine, also who was talking to Bonnie. She's looking for a partner in crime. He compliments her impeccable timing. He's up for it, but she won't tell him where they're going. She has Elena's necklace. Klaus kicks Stefan awake. They're in the back of a semi-truck. Stefan asks for a chance to explain himself. Klaus says he's looked into whatever Stefan was hiding. He throws open the semi back door and Stefan sees he's back in Mystic Falls.

A SENIOR PRANK NIGHT TO DIE FOR ' Despite all that has happened, Caroline is determined to see that Elena, Bonnie, Matt and Tyler all enjoy a traditional Senior Prank Night before the school year begins at Mystic Falls High School. However, when uninvited guests show up, it doesn't take long for the evening to take a deadly turn. Damon convinces Jeremy that he can use his new connection to the other side to help find a way to defeat Klaus. Finally, Klaus deepens his hold on Stefan and uses him for increasingly violent and dangerous purposes.
