Ms.Bholi Bhali:- The Constitution of India has been in effect since January 26, 1950, a date celebrated annually as Republic Day in India. It is one of three annual national holidays in India, the other two being the nation's Independence Day on August 15 (since 1947) and the birthday of Mohandas K Gandhi on October 2.
Priya.nair:- To mark this occasion, a grand parade is held in New Delhi, the Capital of India, beginning from Raisina Hill near the Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential Palace), along the Rajpath, past India Gate and on to the historic Red Fort in the old quarter of the city. Pj04:- The spectacular celebrations include the march past of the three armed forces, massive parades and traditional folk dances, as well as music from representatives of the many and diverse states. The festival reaches its climax with an Air Force fly-by, replete with colored smoke.
Mysticamagic:- Although independence from British rule was actually gained on 15 August 1947 - an occasion marked with the Independence Day celebrations every year - the establishment of the Republic actually has its roots in the Lahore Session of the Indian National Congress at midnight of 31 December 1929-1 January 1930.
Anjali:- During the session the tri-color flag was unfurled by the nationalists and a pledge taken that every year, on 26 January, the Independence Day would be celebrated. This declaration of the spirit of independence became reality when the Constitution of India framed by the Constituent Assembly of India came into force on 26 January 1950.
Sangeeta:- The Government of India spends a lot of energy and resources to put up a good show and the various government agencies spend the several months planning for the event.
Princess:- But for most Indians, born after the independence (in 1947), the day has lost its meaning and value. It has just become yet another day not to go to work or school.
pujas:- Three days later, on the evening of January 29, a stirring ceremony known as 'Beating Retreat', is held. The ancient military custom of sending drummers through the streets just before sunset to warn the troops to return to their barracks before the flag is hauled down for the night, has been revived in a unique way. Twenty or more bands, from the three services, perform. The plaintive notes of the old hymn, 'Abide with me' is played. The bands fall silent and a solitary bugler takes up the hymn's refrain. The final notes fade away-marking the end of the Republic Day celebrations.
Amreen:- Now, V all Indians Respect our contry & so v all together wil sing the "NATIONAL ANTHEM OF INDIA!!!"
