Meet Jadoo! We know Jadoo -- the Roshans' adaptation of the lovable alien from ET -- is not going to be a part of Krrish, the sequel to Koi... Mil Gaya. So we started wondering what the poor alien who had flown in to India and returned to his native planet was doing now. We got the answer when we saw this poster of Sohail Khan, for his latest, Aryan. Sohail, Salman's brother, performed brilliantly as a comedian in Maine Pyaar Kyon Kiya but god knows why he wants to be a boxer in this film. We don't mind a film on boxing and boxers a la Ali and Million Dollar Baby, but why this pose, Sohail? Maybe he's just too optimistic about some box-office jadoo. It's a dog's life, journalists standing outside Karan Johar's film sets would often say. We could see Johar's actors bringing their pets along, and the four-legged ones were treated royally. Journalists would be left to brave the scorching heat outside to get a quote from the pricey actors acting in Karan's film. Apparently, Karan is very wary about people knowing anything about his film before it releases. Remember, the only thing we got from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham before its release was one line. You know, something about how 'It's all about loving your parents.' This time, some enterprising journo ambushed the sets and shot pictures of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, making a joke of the director's secrecy fetish. We only hope Karan reads this and reveals something about his storyline to the press.
Otherwise that too will surely be leaked before the release of the film.
Viveik Oberoi, by now, is in the Sab Ki Leta Hai hall of fame. The latest we hear about this actor is that he has gone to Kerala's famed Shabrimala Temple, with actor Sonu Sood. Sonu who? Oh, yes! The actor who appeared in films like Siskiyaan and the skin flick Aashiq Banaya Aapne last year. What a fall from limelight! From the likes of Ajay Devgan, John Abraham and Karan Johar, Viveik has now made friends with Sood. The actor must be wondering when his life changed. He changed his spelling from Vivek to Viveik, and that didn't help his Home Delivery, the film you voted the worst movie of the year. It seems Viveik has been going to the Shabrimala temple for the last three years, but god has still not shown his films any mercy. Our advice to him: Just watch what you say, and think twice before signing a film. What say you?
Actress Mallika faints while watching Zinda. We read this news item in a newspaper and we were shocked to know how could our dazzling Haryana babe faint while watching a violent movie. When we read the news item carefully, we saw the name of the actress was Mallika Bhatia and not Mallika Sherawat. Now, who is this actress Mallika Bhatia? We don't know this actress' claim to fame and neither do we have her picture. So we are publishing our very own, always reliable, Ms Sherawat's pic. If Ms Bhatia reads Sab Ki Leta Hai and sends her picture to us along with her CV, we will be glad to do a story on this faint-hearted actress who could not stand Sanjay Gupta's latest movie. One of the questions we're dying to ask her is whether she fainted because the film was gruesome or simply because it was really bad.
Generally we don't give sermons in Sab Ki Leta Hai because it is a fun column. However, we would like to give one serious advice to all the aspiring actors. Never say no to television. This advice frankly is because you never know when you will be out of work in films. Remember Amar Upadhyaya, who played Mihir in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi? After he became a star of sorts, he said no to serials and tried his luck in films. His career went nowhere, and he came back embarrassed and started working in serials. The latest to fall in line is a big name, Johnny Lever. The comedian, who ruled the film industry with his presence in virtually every film over the last decade, always refused to work in serials, saying it required too much discipline and time. Now Johnny is out of work, as most film producers think his repetitive kind of comedy isn't what viewers want anymore. They have moved on to other comedians like Rajpal Yadav and Boman Irani.
So what is Johnny doing now? No prizes for guessing. He is doing a television show for Zee, called Johnny Aala Re.
