Sony Entertainment Television (SET) on Thursday said it has consolidated its strong No 2 General Entertainment Channel (GEC) position for the fifth consecutive week and is on an all time high with 271 GRP's this week, distancing itself from Colors with a difference of 52 GRPs and becoming strikingly close to the No 1 slot with a difference of only 21 GRPs.

SET remains the clear leader in primetime with 165 Gross Rating Points (GRPs), leading by 27 GRPs over Star Plus which scored 137 GRPs.

The four day week primetime average is 153 GRPs, 17 GRPs better than the next best Colors with 133 GRPs.

Empowered by the best Non Fiction and a strong Fiction line up, SET has seen constant growth in the last four weeks, which reached the highest mark with a 271 GRPs for Week 38 according to the latest TAM (Television Audience Measurement) data.

Besides being a leader in the 4 metro cities and reaching maximum number of viewers in Tier 2 markets, SET is also the NO 1 Channel in the Digital space with 276 GRPs leading over Star Plus with 242 GRPs and Colors with 187 GRPs according to TAM.

The dream run continues with KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati) being the No 1 Show on Indian Television with an Average TRP of 5.4 followed by Bade Achhe Lagte Hain as the slot leader with 3.9 TRP's, Saas Bina Sasuraal averaging at 2.3, CID continued to thrill audience with 3.1, Crime Patrol at 3.2 and recently launched Prayaschit averaging at 2.1 GRPs.

While Amitabh Bachchan's charisma has once again caught the nation's fancy making it the most popular non- fiction show for the fifth consecutive week, SET's upcoming major Fiction show "Kuch Toh Log Kahenge' is all set to go on air at the 8 pm, Monday to Friday from October 3rd onwards.

"The strong line up of shows in both categories of fiction and non-fiction propelled Sony to a very strong No 2 position among Hindi General Entertainment Channels and SET eyes the NO 1 position with its latest offerings in the next few weeks to come," said an official spokesperson.
