The best apart about B- Town apart from the glitz and glamour is how fit most of the actors - males and females alike - are. Though in the earlier days it wasn't very prominent, off late the "fitness" bug has caught up with most of them. Let's take a look at some.
The one who would top this list would be JITENDRA. The "jumping jack" of yester year, he can still give the youngsters a run for their money. At 69, Jitendra still looks young, healthy and glowingly fit.
Anil Kapoor, the dashing actor/father who has just got fitter with age would get a 10 for his effort and determination. A regular of "Bikram Yoga", he has also inspired daughter Sonam Kapoor to practice this form of yoga for a healthier lifestyle.
Not many know that SUNIEL SHETTY is an extremely fit man himself. Not one to flaunt it, he has had and continues to have the most healthy fitness regime in Bollywood.
His contemporary, AKSHAY KUMAR would also fall under the same category. But for Akshay, the secret of his fitness is definitely not the gym but art forms like the taekwondo, karate and martial arts. And this man is considered THE most fittest in bollywood.
When we are talking about fitness, how can we not talk about the guru of fitness - SALMAN KHAN. This man gave a whole new meaning to fitness from the time he entered the film industry. Need I say more?
Among the newbies, the ones who have got the body and fitness regime to be envious about would be Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham. Hrithik started his fitness regime under the guidance of Salman Khan and that was totally showing in his first movie, "Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai". From there on he has just improved, bringing more variety and discipline into his regime. Not a fitness freak but he definitely takes his fitness seriously and his best gym partner is his wife Sussanne.
A self proclaimed fitness freak, JOHN ABRAHAM, has inspired more than half the youth of the country including his ex girlfriend, Bipasha Basu. You must have heard of people immersing themselves in work but here is a man who immerses himself in hardcore workouts. The results are fab, so who is complaining?
Unlike their male counterparts, the female actors sure do have a long way to go in terms of fitness. Some of them are blessed with a good body which tends to make them take their fitness lightly and others - well they just work really hard for it. Here are a few female actors who make you go "wow".
The first actor who comes to mind when you think of "wow" is definitely the "Dream Girl" of Bollywood, Hema Malini. The constant practice of classical dance is definitely a winner when it comes to this woman. She is somebody who still has that magical aura around her. That along with her strict fitness regime is an envious combination.
Sridevi, the other southern beauty who still makes heads turn with her grace and elegance. The practice of yoga is showing on her skin and the body and Sridevi hasn't looked so comfortable in her skin before. The new found confidence is just adding to her 'oomph' factor and she is definitely looking her fitness best.
Shilpa Shetty has always had a figure to be envious about. And like is the "norm" of Bollywood today, yoga is her secret too! One of the first female actors of today to practice this form of exercise, it has only done wonders for her. Though sometimes you wished she could have put on a little more weight, she is NO way looking unhealthy. The happiness of personal life combined with the practice of yoga is the secret of this gorgeous woman's fitness regime.
It wouldn't be wrong to call Bipasha Basu the female version of John Abraham. She is an absolute fitness freak who cannot imagine a day without working out. Her intake of rice is only once a year (on her birthday) and her breakfast includes a bowl of pomegranates and bitter gourd juice. With a diet like that and a fitness regime that includes hardcore workout, how can she NOT be not considered fit?
And finally, Deepika Padukone ends the list. She had to work hard towards getting rid of the baby fat that was visible in "Om Shanti Om". But from then on it was an absolutely toned body that one was looking at. Again, it was not the gym but the yoga that has done wonders for this sporty beauty.
