Look at the meaning of their names, they even match - shall i say - they connect together, no wonder they are Diya aur Baati, very apt title for the show - but mostly them, they are the lightness that lights up the morning and also the evening...

Suraj being the sun and Sandhya being Dusk, perfection - mostly the twilight or sunset or evening

Look at the meaning in this sense, it so matches as well to this show in some sense...

Diya means the lamp and baati is the wick.

OMG guys how can you really be bothered what their names mean? The show is just so dry and uneventful..my grandma could act better without her teeth in! bring back Gulaal!
