Sandhya is a 19-year-old girl who aspires to become an IPS officer and her whole family supports and nourishes her dream. Her only brother wants to go to US for job and he gets an opportunity but cannot take his wife. His parents mortgage their house and arrange for their daughter-in-law's expenses to send her to US with her husband.
Suraj is a sweet shop owner and the eldest son of the family. He lives with his parents and 2 brothers (one married and one studying) and a sister (studying). He is engaged to a girl Kavitha who on their wedding day runs away from the home (reason not specified, maybe love affair).
Unfortunately, Sandhya's parents die in a bomb explosion in their town.
At present: Suraj's mother could not tolerate humiliating comments of her neighbors on her son canceled marriage and vows to get him married within 15 days or else she herself volunteers to get beaten by shoes on the 16th day. She contacts a marriage broker Kisna and tells her to get a bride for her son who
should handle all chores in the house and not educated.
Sandhya's brother has to leave to US within 15 days. Otherwise, the opportunity goes to his junior. So, he wants to get Sandhya married within 15 days. His wife and Sandhya oppose him but he is looking for an alliance through a marriage broker.
