Cricket. Football is too messy LOL

Who said cricket is banned from being broadcast in Russia and China. Here are some info that might enlighten you.

In the late 80's, a tour was organized by the British Embassy in Moscow for Helsinki cricket club to play a game against a mixture of British, Australian, New Zealandic and Indian diplomats. This tour contained the first televised game of cricket on Russian TV and the tour was such a success that the Russian team toured to Helsinki the following year.

In China, cricket is not televised because it is not played out there. But ths is all set to change.


Hardly anyone plays cricket in China. There are at best a few score active players, overwhelmingly ex-pats, and no professionals.
The Chinese government is working to change that. They're looking to build a pipeline of young athletes, instructing some schools in Beijing and Shanghai to play the game. The Chinese General Administration for Sport has earmarked a playing ground in Beijing, which the ACC will develop into an international-standard venue.
