Balaji's latest show Parichay on Colors brought the well known actor Samir Soni back to limelight post his appearance in Bigg Boss 4. He is a welcome change from the newbies on television and no wonder loads is expected from the show, especially after Balaji's recent hit with Ram Kapoor in Bade Achche Lagte Hain.
Well known actor Samir Soni plays lawyer Kunaal Chopra who has been a failure in life and not appreciated by anyone in his family except his younger brother. The character of Kunaal has been well written and we must appreciate Ekta Kapoor and her writers who crafted this character. A sad, depressed Kunal bears his pain without apology or losing his dignity. You feel his guilt over his mistakes but it doesn't overshadow him or his life. He has pride but he bends backwards for his family and he adores his younger brother. Balaji has got a cluster of different and unique characters in the show with interesting tracks.
Samir Soni who has done tv and films is nice and refreshing to watch on a daily soap after Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. Audiences seem to like him in the brooding Kunaal Chopra but his to-be-love interest Siddhi Mallik played by debutant actress Keerti Nagpure looks too young to be paired with him. She is a fresher and needs to brush up on her acting skills. Kunaal's ex- girlfriend Richa played by Mona Vasu suits Samir in the flashback romance scenes which depict their story.
Overall, Parichay is a decent show which needs to move a bit faster and give us more than the loser bit of Kunaal's life. Good going till now and we can't wait for the upcoming drama. It is a treat to watch Samir Soni in a different role and the pretty Mona Vasu who looks different from her earlier look. The show hasn't been an instant hit and got mixed reactions for now.
Ratings : 3/5
Verdict: Treat for Samir Soni fans
Don't forget to watch Parichay –Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka every Monday to Thursday at 9.30 pm only on Colors.
