Ahem commands Gopi eventhough he permits her to go to help with the preparations:

* he is adamant to take care of himself when he strains his back

* when she helps him they look at each other - the best look since a long time?

* he gives her a piece of his mind for her going out in the rain

 

 

Gopi cares for Ahem:

* she helps in relieving his pain

* reluctant to leave him when he is hurt

* obediently goes when she is told 

 

Ahem is in a no-win situation because he knows of her love and devotion for her kanaji.

 

Still, what is happening in Ahem's head as his mind is keeping him in control but his heart is slowing giving in?

Doesn't he realise that she will follow his instruction no matter what?

DId you notice he finally acknowledge her thanks with a tiny nod of his head, before when she thanked him for anything he just ignored her or shook his head and went about his business, this tell us that he knows going to help is important to her.

Her reluctance to go irritates him, because he knows that if he told her not to go she would not go and again remembers her devotion to kanaji. He also doesn't want to acknowledge her concern for him. He is probably remembering her words from Holi.

When she put the heating bag on his back and he realizes that seeing him in pain also hurts her, just like when he hurt his hand before. Again he doesn't want to admit that she loves him unconditionally and she wasn't lying when she said she couldn't live without him even though he has never given her any reason to love him like she does.

We see this again and again till the end.

If he didn't care he would not have called her back when he saw she was walking in the rain. He came down from his room to take her to the Mandir even though his back was hurting.

whatever might be the reason, i just want more screen time for aham and gopi. it will be nice if the whole family gets caught somewhere and leave aham and gopi alone for a few days. when they return they would have sorted out many problems.
