Preeto is worried about her father and says that when he comes home she will clarify the matter with him. Kanwal comes and asks Preeto what the matter is and Preeto lies and says that because of the heat her head is hurting. Kanwal offers to massage her head with some oil. Bani also asks for her head to be masssaged and Meeta says she will do it if Bani does hers in return. Ishu says that she will do it for Meeta. Sonu suggests that they can line up and massge each others head. She says that Kanwal will do Preeto while Preeto does Sonu's and Sonu will do it for IShu and Ishu can do it for Meeta who will in turn do it for Bani. They sing while they do it, and while Preeto plays along and smiles she is still worried about her father.
Gagan comes home and talks about how his work is appreciated at the office and PReeto looks on. Kanwal tells Gagan that Preeto was in Jalandhar too, and Gagan looks nervous then assk Preeto why she didn't come visit him at the office. Then adds that if she had come she probably wouldn't have been able to see him because he was at the other branch. Preeto lies and says that she had so much work that she didn't get a chance. He asks Preeto if she has more work in Jalandhar and when Preeto says she has to take the clothes back, he tells her she doesn't have tor travel so far as he will take it for her.
He inquires about dinner and they all go to eat, and Preeto wonders why Gagan is lying to all of them. She knows that he won't tell her the truth if she asks so she decides to find out on her own where he goes and works.
Preeto follows her father next day and finds her father going into a hotel. Preeto thinks that maybe he's gone to meet a client in regards to his work. Kanwla calls Preeto and Preeto tells her that she is at Mona Aunty's house and says she will be back in an hour or two. Preeto keeps the phone and then is shocked to see her father dressed up in the hotel uniform and working as the door man. She remembers all the lies and wonders why her father lied about everything. She remebers his feet bothering him and realizes it's because he stands all day. She sees him lifting heavy things and remembers him lying about just sitting and reading books. Preeto is moved to tears tells herself that she will ask her father why he lied to them all. She goes to ask him but sees a crowd of people and decides that if she asks him in front of so many people he will be embarassed. She decides to leave and walks away remembering her fathers words and pondering the truth.
She doesn't realize she's walking in the middle of the street and nearly crashes into the car. Rajbeer gets out of hte car and notices the Preeto looks upset and sadresses her. The people around blame Preeto for being so careless nd Rajbeer defends her and tells them to leave. He asks Preeto to sit with him in the car and he will take her but Preeto walks off inthe opposite direction. Rajbeer calls after her and then drives further and stops his car. He gets out of the car and tells Preeto to get in the car.
Preeto tells Rajbeer to leave as she doesn't want to talk to him. He tells her she doesn't have ot talk to him. He will jsut drop her where she needs to go. Preeto shakes her head and tells him to leave and says she doens't want to go anywhere. Rajbeer tells her that he's not leaving her in this condition and tells her to sit in the car or he's not going anywhere either. Preeto looks at Rajbeer then walks to his car and gets in.
Preeto cries when she gets in and Rajbeer offers her a box of tissues. He starts the car and drives and Preeto continues to cry. He stops after a while and says he won't ask her why she's crying and what happened but he won't drive because he's too distracted by her tears to drive. Preeto gets out of the car and walks away in tears. Rajbeer gets out of the car and grabs her hand and he asks her what is worng that she won't talk to him or let him tlak to her. Preeto says her problem is Gagandeep Dhillon and Rajbeer looks confused. Preeto says Gagan is well known in all of Amritsar and no one can teach Urdu better than him and people call him Masterji. She says he goes to Jalandhar every morning to work and says he's going to a publishing house but is working as a door man. She says the man who is supposed to publish his novels and who hasn't lifted any mpore htan a book or a pen is lifting bags and people's suticases. The person who people bow down in front of with respect is now bowing in front of others to earn money. She cries louder with each statment as Rajbeer looks on still unsure. Preeto tells Rajbeer that it is her father who is working as a hotel doorman. Rajbeer realizes what Preeto is upset about.
Preeto cries bitterly then turns around but Rajbeer grabs her hand again, and shakes his head when Preeto looks at him. He holds on to her hand as Preeto looks at him with tear filled eyes. Preeto sits down and talks with Rajbeer telling him that her father used to work as an Urdu teacher till they vut Urdu out of hte syllabus and he had to leave his job. She tells him that her father has given her the best lessons in life and told her to fight life no matter what and to always remember to find a moment of happiness even in troubles. She says she can't understand that her father has accepted loss in life. She says she's never been angry with her father but today she's angry. Rajbeer tells her not to look at it as her father accepting defeat but rather what he's winning. He says it is very easy to fight for oneself but to fight for those you love is even harder and her father is fighting for his family.
Preeto says that is all fine but why did he have to lie to his own. Rajbeer asks her what she would have done. He asks her if she would have told the truth and hurt her family or would she have lied just to see her family happy. Preeto doesn't answer but she knows that she would have lied. Rajbeer tells her not to think of her father's job as little as no job is big or small. Any job is a job and tells her she is lucky that she has a father who loves his family so much that he's willing to bear any discomfort for his family's happiness. He rises and says that there are some people whose father only has time for himeslf and for him the kids are only a burden. He remembers his own childhood watching his parents fighting while he looked on. He shakes his thought and walks back to Preeto, sitting back down and tells her to be proud to have such a loving father.
Preeto is surprised by Rajbeer's words.
