PART-1

Ichagunj Rail Station ... though a tiny station..but one can find its name in time table because once it was not so tiny...but past is past...now not much no of trains pass through the stations...and a few no. of local trains stops here that too for 4-5 minutes ...only few people who works in kolkata..and some bsf army passes through this station but generally the station remains lonely...but still the station got a local train on its name...may be it was a tribute to the past glory of Ichagunj...
Ichagunj local covers Sealdah station to Ichagunj..every sunday only once...it takes 3.30 hours to reach Ichagunj from Kolakata if train doesn't late..
        ...at 5 p.m on Sunday while Ichagunj local reached its last destination..station master was having a nap after lunch..being quite sure that the train has not brought a single passenger for its last station..as usual...but the day was different from others...a girl came down from the train with her luggage..what is unexpected enough for this tiny station..when its not even winter time when picnic parties visit here...
              Shatarupa didn't expect that a station can look like a haunted place even in daylight..when its not that far from the metro city Kolkata...she felt puzzled and helpless too..she has heavy luggage with her but none is visible to help her...as the train was late for 1 hour..so it took 4.30 hours to reach here..she is already tired and now watching this situation she became tensed..she thought for a while and managed to lift her luggage and walked towards the room of station master...and found him sleeping in his room...Shatarupa cleared her voice...but stationmaster didn't awake..
     ...then Shatrupa called him in a low voice ..'excuse me sir'...but still didn't get response...at last she became a bit louder..'sir'...and then at last station master woke up...but as he was still not awoke properly..he couldn't locate why a beautiful girl is calling him..he thought he is still having a day dream...now Shatarupa lost her patience..and became louder..'are you listening to me ?'...now the middle aged man gained his consciousness fully and took his spectacles..and observed her again...he understood that the girl is coming outside from town...though she is wearing Churidar-kurta..but her dress up says she is coming from big city like Kolkata..but he couldn't understood what the girl is doing in this remote town..he was confused..'madum you.'...'yes me..waiting for your daydream to end...Shatrupa is impatient now...'sorry actually i am not well these days' station master is really ashamed'...'say mam how can i help you?'
    ...listening that Shatrupa becomes polite... 'can you please tell me how to reach Ichagunj Vidyamandir' i am the new music and dance teacher...my train got late..but i found the station looks like a deserted land'...the station master laughs...its not the fault of station..what to do mam..people doesn't passes through here...and the station has been ignored by maximum no. of trains..but still govt. kept this station alive so..so whom will you blame'...Shatarupa becomes impatient again with his unnecessary dialogue ..'fine got it'..now will you please say how to reach the school' ...station master laughed loudly...'school on sunday..you must be kidding mam'...Shatarupa smiles ashamedly 'ya i know..actually i had a dance performance yesterday..so couldn't come earlier...but there must be any hostel for students and teachers.'...
...''sorry to deprive you mam but all the students are local..and teachers are also from nearby places..so here is no need for any hostel...but you can ask for some arrangement of being a paying guest from your school authority...but it can only be possible tomorrow..when the school will be open...but nothing can be arranged tonight'..
...Shatrupa becomes frightened and tensed...' so where will i stay tonight..any hotel or guesthouse'..but her voice sounds impossible to herself..the station master nodded his head to no as expected..'you can see mam how small town is it..so i have to deprive you again'...then he watched Shatarupa's tensed face again...and felt pity on this sweet girl...its a serious problem for a young girl to find place for spending night safely that too in a stranger place..but what can he do..he can't ask her to spend night in station..as there is only one room for him...he thought for a while...and suddenly found a way..."yes mam there is one place where you can stay for tonight'...a ray of hope becomes visible on Shatarupa's deprived face...'where??..please tell me.'..
' in the palace'...
...'palace'??..Shatarupa got confused...
'... yes mam..you heard it right the old royal palace or rajmahal of Ichagunj...i can arrange a place for you there...if you won't have any problem in spending night in a hundreds of years old almost haunted Rajmahal'...
...now Shatarupa felt relaxed...and smiled...' problem??nothing can be better than this...rather i am feeling much excited...please uncle help me to make an arrangement there...
..by listening uncle station master's heart softened more...'sure daughter...you are our guest..i will make the old lady of palace convinced to allow you living for tonight...for next 3 hours no train will stop here..so i myself can take you to the palace..come with me..'...he himself lifts one of Shatarupa's luggage...and started walking...
..Shatarupa followed him with lots of excitement in heart...her heart was just beating so fast...she feels something is waiting for her in this Ichagunj...

at 3 o'clock night Rituraj returns from the beach party...its his daily routine...sometimes he even doesn't return at night...and his parents are aware of his nature...so today he got surprised when he found his father is waiting for him in the door...even he himself open the door for him...Rituraj got shocked...he has the duplicate key as usual..and his father's behavior seemed unusual to him...but he tried to ignore that and steps towards his bedroom..and then Devprasad's calm but firm voice came from back...'stop Rituraj i have some important talks with you'...Rituraj stopped..so he assumed it right..today something is waiting for him...but he is also determined...he knows which impossible plan is roaming in his father's mind...but he is adamant no he never would be agreed...he already had a chapter of arguments with his parents earlier...but months later father called him with the full name...that means weather is serious...without turning back he replied...'dad m roro...you know na i don't like to be called as Rituraj..what a huge name is it..'
    ...'ohh great..so father gifted name is a burden to you'...Devprasad Basumallik replied calmly...
       ...'dad i don't wanna argue with you on my name at 3'o clock...Rituraj sounded bit annoyed...
...' does 3'o clock at night matter anything for an american??'...Devprasad is still too much calm
   Rituraj tries to get the cause behind those sarcastic comments of his father...but its clear tonight dad won't let him go easily...'ok fine'..so he prepared himself for another chapter of arguments...and turned back.
Devprasad And Rituraj both Basumalliks stood face to face...
