It was her. It had to be. Who else had the audacity to cross paths with Arjun Punjj, The heir of "Punjj & Mittal Business Empire"? His light brown eyes were hazed with anger and his fists were clenched. Storming out of the library, he went straight to the common room of the girl's dorm. Looking around in anger he looked like he was going to murder anybody who's in his reach.
"AROHI.." He called for her loudly, causing heads to turn and stare at him.
Some girls giggled and looked away and some were in the mood of enjoying another drama.
"Arohi, come out of wherever you are hiding" Arjun's voice was amplified with anger.
Arohi was nowhere to be found and that only added to his outrage. He punched his fist on the wall in anger and left the room. Knocking chairs in his way he stormed out of the university premises. Once in his car, he slammed the door shut and purred the engine to life.
"Main Karoon to Saala, Character Dheela hai"
The speakers blasted out the song and he slammed his finger on the 'Off' button. Anything unexpected right now as twisting his mind! He turned the AC onto full max power but had no intention of driving. He held the staring with both his hands with so much power that it seemed like he was going t break that wheel into billion pieces with his hands. Car was in parking and his handbrake was pulled, and thanks GOD for that, because he was constantly pressing the gas paddle with his feet as if he was taking his anger out on it. His eyes were focussed in front of him on a point unknown.
Arjun was THE star of his university. He was the best in everything he did. Superstar of every sports team in the university, Top academic student from year he joined till now, and the best looking guy there was. Most his of time was spent in sports, studies, and if not those two, then his dad's business was high in his priorities. Even though he was not fully involved with it, but he always kept an eye on what was going on, and what deals were being made with which company. More than often he knew more about the company's accounts than the head accountant did. Mr Punjj took pride in his son and felt blessed for having him.
Girls swooned over him, but he w as a tough act to follow. He thought girls were a waste of time, and he never liked girls with low or no self respect. He always detested girls who fell on his feet as if he was God. He was a normal guy and he wanted a normal girl who will stand by him rather than falling on his feet and beg for love and attention. He hadn't met such a girl in 3 yrs of his academic studies, until last week when Arohi joined the main campus.
Arohi Aluwalia, a girl who was a tough competition to Arjun Punjj. She matched his arrogant attitude and his academic excellence. Her looks were to die for. She was confidence and dignity personified. They were both in the same department, and in 3rd year of Finance specialists. They had both met in the library the day after Arohi had joined. Arohi had gone to the library to look for a book on Economics to complete her assignment. She had searched all the shelves but couldn't find it. The computer database had confirmed that there was still one copy in the library, but it seemed like it had gone missing.
In frustration she banged her books on the empty table and sat in the chair. He lips were pouted and lines of disappointment were visible on her face.
"God, what am I going to do now, I need that book and the central city library will also be closed by now. Internet will not give me precise information." She was talking to herself and was on the verge of tearing up when she saw on the other side of the table she was sitting on. She stretched her arm and slid it in front of her. Within a second her eyes shone with happiness and her teeth appear between her lips, one by one. Both her hands clenched in fists and went up in the air. "YES! Found it" she said to herself. But it there were some pages turned as reminders or markers, and somebody's notebook, highlighter and a pencil were also left back on the table along with that book. 'Hmmm, somebody must be reading it' she thought to herself.
But it was Arohi, how could she NOT take the book when she had the chance to. Too bad the other person didn't issue it out before reading it. She quickly grabbed the book, and went to the librarian. She was looking around to see if somebody was coming after her, but to her luck nobody had noticed the book missing yet. She was quick to issue it and leave the library. On the way out of the library, she swung the library door open and almost crashed into a guy. The door had hit her forehead and the guy's foot had stepped over hers.
"OUCH! Her eyes fumed with anger and she rubbed her hand over her forehead to sooth it.
"Can't you see where you're going?" Her voice was loud with pain and anger and she was hopping on one foot.
Arjun wasn't hurt, but felt bad for the girl who was in pain. He tried to ask her if she was ok but she stormed out of the door in anger. "Whatever" he said under his breath and went back to his table in the library. It took him a moment to realise that the book he was reading was missing. Frantically he was picking up all the papers, books and magazines from the table to look for the book as if it was a needle and not a 500 pages hardcover book. He dropped on his chair like his legs had no life.
"Oh no, that was the only book in the library. Where did it go?" he was talking to himself, worried about his assignment. "Maybe I should ask the librarian if somebody took it". He quickly went to the librarian's desk.
"Ma'am, can you please tell me if somebody has just issued out the book, "Macro Economics"? He asked with anticipation in his voice. Librarian took a second to tell him that it was just checked out.
"A student just issued it, about 5 minutes ago." She told him while keeping herself busy with scanning the codes of the books that were dropped back.
"Can you please tell me the name of the student who issued it? I'll just share it with them" he was only interested in knowing the name so he could give her a piece of his mind.
She looked up at him from under her glasses. "Umm wait" she said while checking. "Yeah. Arohi Aluwalia, Finance department" She told Arjun and went back to her work.
"Thank you" he said and moved away from her table.
"AROHI ALUWALIA" he grinded his teeth with frustration and said her name under his breath. "Nobody has ever dared to take a book Arjun Punjj was reading. I'll make sure you know the rules around here" His fists were clinched and eyes red with anger. He gathered all his books from the table and left the library. He was also in the Finance department, but he's never seen or heard of this girl Arohi. It was now the job of his friends to tell him who this new chick was.
His friends were sitting in the computer lab. He joined them but one look on his face was enough to put a full stop to everybody's conversation. They knew somebody was about to get the best conversation of their life by Arjun punjj. He was furious when angry and anything and everything made him angry. Even the littlest thing that went against his plan or mood would tick him off the hook. Red eyes means he was thirsty for blood.
"Who is it?" Ayush asked him because he knew there was no need of asking what happened as it was pointless.
He was swinging his chair back and forth and his eyes were focused on a point further on an empty wall.
"Arohi Aluawlia. I need to know the A to Z of this girl ASAP. She's in our department" both his hands were put together as if he was praying and his finger tips were under his chin.
"Arohi!" Jay exclaimed.
Startled Arjun looked at him with curious eyes.
"YEAH! Arohi. You know her?" He asked him with narrow gaze.
"Dude! That Hot chick that just joined yesterday. She's miss attitude guy" Jay was clearly smitten by her beauty and had already had a Rendezvous with her.
Arjun made a disgusted face at him.
"Seriously, do you ever see anything else in a girl than how HOT she is" he said to Jay. "Anyways, I don't care how hot she is, I need to talk to her ASAP. So can I get her info in like an hour?" He always gave orders, and he knew they would be followed. After all he was the King of that university and people did everything to stay close to him.
Jay and Ayush left the room right away leaving him alone. He decided to do some research on the internet in the mean time he gets the book. He was sure he will have the book back, because he always did. There was not a single girl in this university that wasn't ready to give up her life for him, a book was just a pea in the pond. A smirk touched the corner of his lips and illuminated his light brown eyes.
After exactly 25 minutes he was standing in front of Arohi, who was busy making notes from the book she just issued from the library. She was sitting on ground with a book and her laptop and was typing away. She had no idea he was towering over her head and was staring at her with heat in his eyes.
"Next time you steal somebody's book from a table, make sure nobody was reading it" He said it loud enough for her to hear the anger in his voice.
Her hands came to a halt and her head shot up to look at the incredibly handsome man standing in front of her. Anger touched her eyes as it was the same guy she'd bumped into at the library door and he had stepped over her foot. Her finger nail broke and she had Band-Aid on it.
"You!" She said it in an equally angry tone as him. "Now you want to break my other nail too" She clearly hadn't heard what he'd said to her to begin with.
"WHAT" Arjun exclaimed with confusion on his face. "Are you out of your mind? I'm asking you why you stole my book?" he said angrily, pointing towards the book in her lap.
"YOUR book! ..Listen Mr. whoever you are, I didn't steal any book and let alone yours" she said while stressing on Steal and Yours.
"Arjun. My name is Arjun Punjj. Keep that in mind. And the book you issued from the library, you stole that from the table where i left it. I was making notes from it." He wondered why he was explaining to her.
Arohi put the laptop down on the grass but kept the book in her hand and stood up. She walked a little closer to Arjun so she could see in his eyes.
"Oh I See. So you have come to complain that I took the book you were reading from. Aww such a baby" She said trying to make a cute face and made a gesture with her fingers as if she was pulling a baby's cheeks. "Well Mr. Arjun, you should've issued it when you had the chance to. The book is a property of the library and i have issued it with their permission. I hardly need anybody's opinion on where and how I should get my books" She said to him while looking him in his furious eyes. "And now if you're done crying, can you please excuse me. I have notes to make"
She said to him, took her laptop and left him standing there bewildered. He didn't' know what had hit him. Nobody had ever spoken to him like this before and especially not a girl. His fists clenched, his teeth grinding, eyes red with anger he kicked a rock with the tip of his shoes. 'I will see you Arohi Aluwalia' He said under his breath and turned to go to the class.
