Zee, sometimes changes bring fantastic results! Salman proved it on Friday night singing Aj hona deedar mahi da, aj hona deedar, aj mahi ne auna e- auna, aj mahi ne auna. To me one of the best performance ever on little champs. This dude has got pure and holy soul, may God bless him. I couldn't find the video of his current rendition on You tube yet. Will post it as soon as its available.

TV "Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa li'l Champs" contestant Salman Ali talks about his experience

M usic reality shows on the telly are beginning to cast their net wider. They are stepping away from the age when most contestants were from metropolises and only a handful picked from smaller towns like Meerut and Kolhapur. And now, it is the other way round. Take for instance, Salman Ali of Mewat.

He is one of the contestants in the ongoing "Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs", a popular music reality show on Zee TV, now on to many seasons. Salman hails from one of the most impoverished areas of the country; part of his village has no access to drinking water supply or electricity.

His village does not have a music school either. Salman, who comes from a family of singers, got his first music lesson at home.

For this particular show, Salman was alerted by his friend Manoj Sharma, who stays in Delhi. Since he was already taking music lessons from Master Salim in Jalandhar, Salman did not have to think twice before giving his name for the show. And now, he is in the show's top 10 list and is being looked as a hot contender for this season's title. And if he does make it to the final, Salman will exceed his parents' dream of just being seen on television.

He performed "Sajda" in Delhi auditions and impressed the judges.

On the show, Salman is a part of singer Kailash Kher's team but the other 'gurus' on the show — Adnan Sami and Jawed Ali, and also 'maha guru' Alka Yagnik appreciates his voice and his sense of music. In fact, one of his songs left Alka Yagnik and Kailash Kher teary eyed.
