Disha's Saris

My oh my, do you know that it is almost everyday that I lust over Disha's saris.

Firstly she looks stunningly beautiful in them and I have yet to see another serial actress who adorns a sari so beautifully and struts around so gracefully!!! 😊

Secondly, I wish I knew where to look here in South Africa for saris like that! I hope someone can help me in telling me the type of sari she uses - whether it is organza or something like that!

I love to use saris and if I could get my hands on something like what she uses, I would probably use them everyday if I could!!!

But being from S.A, people don't actually use saris on a daily basis except if it is for a function or something!

I would just shunt the norms here and use them just for the beauty of it and also for being proudly Indian!!!

A little old article to share with..

Disha and the art of attire

Zee's Disha is undergoing a makeover. For those who have been clued in, Disha, who has been weaving her way in and out of slinky see-through sarees, might just get a change of attire.

Where's Disha's wardrobe headed?

Although the Tumhari Disha protagonist may not have spawned a fan following a la Ramola Sikand with her choice of clothing, Chhavi Mittal has been rigged out with a wardrobe that boasts a series of transparent sarees with designer blouses to match. Interestingly, when the show's producers, Film Farm, wanted to alter her look, the channel, Zee, insisted that Disha retain her 'netted saree' look as it's apparently a rage in metros like Ahmedabad!

Disha herself is slated to undergo an emotional makeover with her character becoming more a thinking, independent woman, says producer Rupali Guha. "Disha earlier wore trademark short kurtis with embroidery, a look that morphed into the netted saree look when she married into the influential family that runs the Kanaka group of companies. Even her next image change will be commensurate to her mental make-up!" says Rupali.

What's special about her - the nose ring or those diamond bindis?

While on Krutika, who plays Disha's mother in law, the lady's nose ring, a Rabaran type of rural accesory was something Rupali expected to catch on has been obscured by the diamond bindis she sports on her eyelids! Krutika has now been tricked out in sarees with animal prints, while her hair colour too matches the sarees!

Rupali's efforts to popularise jewelry among the menfolk in Tumhari Disha however does not seem to have clicked. DK was made to wear huge black stone pendants to portray his evil self, but somehow, Rupali rues, the effect has been lost in the suits and boots he sports in every episode. !

And for those curious about the twists Disha may take in coming days, Vedant (Sachin) who entered the script recently, will soon have a woman in his life, who will have to take on Dishal.

A sari state of affairs

More transperancy: Chhavi Mittal
Tumhari Disha's lead actress Disha (Chhavi Mittal) is known for her transparent sarees.

In the show, she has been featured in only these sheer, chiffon saris. The producers of this afternoon Zee soap, however, of late have a slight problem in hand.

They are having a hard time procuring a collection of sheer saris for every show. How many different coloured chiffon saris can Disha madam wear in every episode? They have already run out of colours but Disha won't be caught dead in any other sari. So the hunt for the sheer six yards is on…

Disha's Sari's are a rage in India also, though I don't think it can really catch on with the Public because most Indian Women have fuller figures and won't be able to carry such a sheer sari with aplomb the way Chhavi carries them.

Chhavi is also a model, that is why she has one of those dainty, petite figures and she looks good in all type of clothes. I had earlier posted one her pics in which she is wearing a really short skirt with a sphaghetti top........she looked very cute in it......wonder what DK will think of it???πŸ˜†

And I recently saw an advertisement which was aired in-between a movie that I was watching in a Theatre, I saw DK in it and he was enacting this role of a Film Director and was dressed in Jeans and a Short kurta looking so adorable! I almost dropped my popcorn when I saw him looking so youngish and cute as usual!

Get-up / Make-up can make people look vastly different from how they look in real life!

Cheers,

Disha

"Get-up / Make-up can make people look vastly different from how they look in real life!"

Yes, it is so true! Therefore, we should always remember how ravishing we would each look if we had our own make-up team and wardrobe specialists! And how plain the stars would look if they didn't! πŸ˜†

I n ZOOM tv they interviewed chaavi in which she said she is very uncomfortable with the sarees on ,on the sets she can be found with them only during the shots with great diffuctly she manages them once the shots are over her saree becomes messy.

sometimes when the cameras are not projected towards her legs she manages with her sports shoes !(they showed her wearing a brown shoes with blue socks) .offscreen she always prefers to wear jeans  sometimes skirts but sarees never.

Yeah, saris are often not too practical for a "modern" woman, though I have climbed ladders and climbed over walls in them, unloaded huge vans full of heavy boxes single-handedly in the snow, and even shovled snow-and-ice covered sidewalks while wearing a sari. Its just not so convenient! πŸ˜† Of course, I was younger then. Now my concerns are more along the lines of how to keep the sari looking nice with two small children hanging off of you! Any pointers? πŸ˜•

Disha always does look great in those saris- but of course, she may have some help there...
