Part 29

Robi was sitting in hdrawing room n kuhu n piyal were watching tv... thy were changing channels n suddenly piyal saw the movie she liked, although she's too young to understood wats going on in that movie still she liked it...
She ask kuhu to stop n increase the volume...

It grabs robi's attention n saw a scene n got lost in old memories...

Flashbackk...

Though it was not exactly his idea of a rrobi antic evening (though clearly, it was hers),
Robi had agreed to sit and watch his first movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hi Toh Hai with Nandani,
albeit rather reluctantly.

So yes, though snuggling up with Nandani on his couch was a definite plus,
staring at his own face and the face of that bimbo actress (he dnt like her :P)

Finally after three and a half hours of badly scripted, illogical bored robi , Robi understood that its better to listen nandani talking continously for 3 hours.

The irony of it was that Nandani, love of his life, Nandani was the one to deliver the final, cruel blow.
And that too, crobi pletely unintentionally. As the credits rolled up the screen, (Robi fighting the urge to start cheering) she sighed in a dreamy voice,
her head resting on his chest, 'Oh, I love that movie so much...' Her voice sounded nostalgic.
'I remember seeing it in theatres for my ninth birthday.'

At that point the buzzing in robi's ears had gotten too loud to decipher the rest of what she said.
I remember seeing it in theatres for my ninth birthday... my ninth birthday... birthday... birthday...

If life was a Hindi movie, there would have been a few choice thunder claps by now.
Time seemed to have slowed to a crawl and all he could hear was his heartbeat, loud in his ears.
Nandani had been nine when she had first seen KNPHTH. He had been twelve when it had released. Which meant...

'I'm old!' He woke up fr Robi his horror long enough to notice that Nandani was looking up at him as if he were mental.
He turned red. 'Did I say that out loud?'

She nodded, suddenly looking like she was suppressing a giggle with srobi e difficulty.
Just as suddenly, Robi noticed that she was snuggled up against him, and his arms were around her.
He hastily untangled himself and moved to the far end of the couch.

'Oh my God,' he squeaked, his voice panicky.

Nandani stared. And then laughed. And laughed. And laughed srobi e more.
Finally, wiping tears out of her eyes, she gasped, 'robi, I know you're not the best at maths, but it didn't mean that you can't think'

He glared at her, not a little annoyed at her making light of his terrible realization.
'Okay, so maybe I exaggerated a little. So I'm not old'

Her eyes twinkled & she punched his shoulder.
'robi , I'm legally an adult. And it's not like you're some old man either.'
She cracked up laughing..

Robi, OK, the Big O, had squeaked. Had called himself a pedophile. And best of all, had sat through all 200 excruciating minutes of Kaho Na Pyaar Hi Toh Hai.

There was a brief silence as he pondered this.
'It's not twisted and sick, then?' Robi asked hopefully.

Nandani sighed, and then patiently asked, 'Do you think Salman and Katrina are twisted and sick?'
Then, seeing his thoughtful expression and long silence, winced and added hastily, 'Okay, don't answer that.'
And she laughed at him again...

Robi sighed in relief as he realized that she was just kidding, robi is very conciious for his age n he's not too older, nandani knows it well.
Nandani grinned. 'I am never going to watch any romantic movie with you again. and yes i was 11 when i watch this'...

Robi smiled...

He finally relaxed and returned his arms to their favourite place – around her.
'Nandani, I love you, you know that?.'

Nandani:No i dnt, you never told me that...

He look at her n laughs,'u'll never change'

Nandani starts singing...n contionous shaking robi to say it loudly...

"Dil mera har baar yeh sunne ko bekaraar hai
Kaho na.pyar hai, kaho na..pyar hai"

Robi finally opens his mouth n hugss her more tightly ...

"Haan tumse pyar hai, ki tumse pyar hai"

FLashback over...

The same song was playing in movie...

It irritates robi n he shouts to lower the volume, piyal was actually dancing on that song, she got scared n ran to kuhu...

Mouli came out of the kitchen...ananya was not home...
She saw the girls scared of robi...
She moves towards them... n put her hand lovingly on piyal's head...

Kuhu dn't like it...she removes it rudely...

Kuhu: I can take care of my sister, no one need to bother about her...

Robi dn't like tis behaviour...

R: Kuhu (He shouts)

Kuhu got scared for a while but piyal who was already scared starts crying, which melts robi in just a single second, he can't see her piyal crying like this...

He put hand on his head n relax himself n goes to piyal, kuhu who got angry ran from their, mouli try to stop her but she dn't...

Robi pick piyal in his arms... wipes her tears...kissed her with all luv n affection...

P: aap bahut gande ho bilkul vo story wale beasty k jaise ho

R: acha, ye kisne kaha aapko...

P: Choti maa ne bola...

Mouli laughed at her innocence n kissed her ...

R: acha aur kya kaha choti maa ne...

P: vo main nahi bataungi, vo hum dono ki secret hai...

R: aap mamu se naraz ho

P: haan (she said it cutely)

R: phir mamu ko kya karna padega

P: mmm (she put finger on her forehead n pretend to be thinking)...mujhe partha k ghar jaana hai...

R: bas... phir to aap gussa nahi hoge na...

P: nahi (she smiled)

R: To chalo phir...

Thy move n mauli stops them...

M: I think u shud ask kuhu also, she'll feel good...

Robi nods n goes to her room...

R: kuhu...

K: i dnt want to talk with you...

R: Ok ... mujhse mat baat kar but partha se to karegi na...

She jumped with excitement...

K: partha aaya hai

R: nahi, hum ja rahe h ... u wanna cum

K: mujhe nahi jaana, wahan vo bhi hongi

Before robi say anythin, piyal steps in running...n hold her hand n force her to cum with them...

P: kuhu jiji chalooo... (she was trying to pull her outside)

robi put his hand on her head...

R: chal ab meri princess, itna gussa tu bhi bilkul ...

She stares before robi completes his sentence...

R: mujhpe gayi h

K: Chachu pe nahi jaungi to kya movie wali heroine pe jaungi...

Thy smiled n leaves...

Partha House...

His mother was sitting in front of mirror n getting ready... she wear jwellery slowly... earings, necklace, bangles, bindiya, mangalsutra, n when she was about to put sindoor from her little dibiya (box)...
partha came out running... shouting " Maa... maa"... which really scared her... n the dibiya fall but not directly, it goes up, the sindoor fall in her maang(forehead), on her face n then fell down...

It makes her angry...

Mother: Partha ... kya tha ye

Partha : Piyal aayi hai

Her face glew up...

Mother: kahan hai...

Partha : Aa rahi hai baba or kuhu jiji bhi hai...

She looked at the door ...
Piyal enters the room running...to her

P: Choti maa (she hold her tightly)

Choti maa= Nandani...

Nandani picks her n kissed her thousand times in few seconds...

N: kaisa hai mera bacha...

P: maine aapko bahut miss kiya

N: awww maine bhi aapko bahut miss kiya...

P: choti maa, mamu bhi aaye hai...

Nandani makes her stand, she dnt like that robi is here...

N: tum dono khelo main muh saaf karke aati hu..

as she walks outside, robi steps inside... n thy collide on entrance... nandu slips in robi's arms...
