Priyanka Chopra speaks with Exhibitmag on fast cars, cool gadgets and how she manages to get that oh-so-hot figure.

EX: Are you a techno freak? What are your addictions in gizmo world?

PC: I am a certified technoholic! A gadget and gizmo geek. From my Nokia E7 to My Nikon D 90 and everything in between, my life is filled with gadgets and gizmos. My favourite shopping destination are gadget stores and Book / DVD stores. I can spend hours just checking out the stuff & what all it offers. My home, car and life is filled with gadgets -- some very important to my daily functioning and others which are completely unnecessary but just so cool that I had to have them! My biggest addiction is my phone!

EX: Your current association with Nikon, your thoughts?

PC: It's a beautiful fit. I love taking pictures and in fact had just got myself a D90 (before I came on board as Nikon's brand ambassador). I think cameras are very important accessory to have on hand wherever you go because nothing works better than a great moment captured in a photo which will last you your whole life. It's about creating memories. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Nikon family.

Not only am I a gadget geek but (I am) also a speed junkie'

EX: How would you rate yourself in photography and who are your favourite photographers?

PC: Honestly, I don't think I'm any good as a photographer. But I'm learning! I love taking candid pictures of people -- which is why everyone on my film sets are so wary of me know. I'm forever taking pictures and capturing all the secrets!

It's difficult to choose a specific photographer here in India because all of them are my favourites... each has their own style... I also am quite amazed by the new breed of photographers... the guys who are out there capturing the most amazing pictures from wars, natural disasters etc. Their work is quite remarkable.

EX: Cameras that make part of your digital wardrobe...

PC: Nikon D90 & a Nikon Cool Pix (in many colours!)

EX: Does the steering and fast cars tempt you?

PC: For sure. Not only am I a gadget geek but also a speed junkie. Fast bikes and even faster cars... my adrenalin rush. I do get behind the wheel sometimes, late in the night, when I'm headed back home after work... it's a great feeling. And I love long bike rides too!

'I would come up with a multi-taskers gizmo'

EX: Who or what has influenced you the most in life?

PC: My parents... because of who they are as individuals and what they stand for. They have given me the courage to pursue my dreams, irrespective of what those dreams were, and stood behind me, supporting me as I set out to achieve those dreams!

EX: If you were given a chance, which gadget or technology you would have come up with?

PC: A multi-taskers gizmo... Something that allows me to do 20 things at one time!

EX: Lastly, your next tech Stop. Gadgets that are part of your wish list and waiting to be picked up.

PC: I am such a geek that I make sure I get the new gadgets that I want the minute they hit the market and sometimes even before! Right now, I'm researching the additional, different lens for my Nikon D90! Can't wait.

I started out uncertain about being in films but...'

EX: From The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and Andaaz to Anjaana Anjaani and 7 Khoon Maaf -- how has been the journey so far in celluloid world? Any memorable moment that you would want to share with us?

PC: It still feels like I started only yesterday! It's been a roller-coaster ride. I've see many ups and also many downs but I am lucky to be in the place that I am today. Even though I came into this industry with no backing and no connections, I have crossed paths with so many wonderful people who have taken a chance on me... directors, producers, co-actors and the like.

I'd like to think this journey has not only helped me grow as an actor but also as a human being. I started out uncertain about being in films but today I know this is what I was born to do.  For me every single moment has been memorable and I have them all filed away in my memory!

EX: You have donned roles of every kind. Which one has been the most satisfactory and why? Any dream role?

PC: That's a very tough one. It's like asking a mother to choose her favourite child... an impossible task! Each one of the characters I've portrayed have created a connect with the audience and brought me to the place that I am in today. I am living my dream every day, with every film and role! I am just thankful for what I have.

EX: How do you handle pressure on professional front?

PC: I have a wonderful, supportive family and a great bunch of friends who help me deal with all my stress and pressures. I also have a highly efficient team that ensures that everything is in place, leaving no room for unnecessary tension and problems!

EX: How was it like to be on the adventurous show Fear Factor replacing Akshay Kumar?

PC: What can I say... I'm an adrenaline junkie... a risk-taking, adventurous personality. It was a whole new experience for me. As the host, the entire show rests on your shoulders and you have to make sure you keep it moving in the right direction. Given that this was a daily show, we had a very punishing schedule, shooting from morning to night for 20 straight days.  But it was great fun and I learnt many new things!

Indulge in your cravings once in a while'

Tips on how to look so great and in shape.

  • Everybody has their own individual body structure and there is no 'one-size-fits-all' situation.
  • A regular fitness regime, even if it is a daily walk, is very important and helps you fight so many complications like blood pressure, cholesterol etc.
  • Don't starve yourself. It's a short-term solution that is very damaging for your body. Just try and eat healthy whenever you can... don't always overdo it.
  • Indulge in your cravings once in a while... it's good to let go sometimes, doesn't leave in a constant state of wanting to cheat on your diet.
  • For your skin follow the simple routine of cleansing, toning and moisturising. AND drink a lot of water.
