An alternate take on Sanchi's character and on the show. What if Sanchi was so obsessive about Shravan that she really did turn to fiendish acts to get him? It's just a thought and a short fic, and it should not be taken very seriously. Hope it doesn't offend anyone :)NOTE: Tara is NOT supposed to be portrayed as a heroine in this story. Sanchi is still the heroine. I'm going for the Villain Protagonist route. Tara loses :P
Her soul was burning.
It felt like all the pain in the world had collected together and come to rest inside her chest. Her head spun, her eyes stung and her throat strained in agony as she screamed at the heavens.
He didn't love her.
Knees raw from the gravel below, hands aching as she clutched the metal chain so hard it dug into her palm and drew blood, his voice repeating in her head over and over and over...
"I love a girl named Tara."
All her life she'd waited for true affection, for someone who would see only her and have only her in his heart. A person to whom she wouldn't be second priority, who would cherish her and not see her as a burden.
She thought she'd found him. She thought the day he gave her that handkerchief, he gave her his heart and a promise to love her forever.
It was all WRONG. Every smile, every kind word, all a miserable lie.
The rain fell mercilessly, pelting her with ice cold drops of reality as her dreams and hopes broke into pieces and disintegrated.
Blinking for one moment, she felt the stinging in her palm and opened it to look at the chain he'd bought her, the one she thought was a token of his love.
Unexpectedly, it welled up. Anger. Hate. Disgust. Washing over her slowly, it replaced the pain with hot rage.
She threw the chain as hard she could, watching it fly away from her as her feelings of weakness did.
Tara. The girl who Shravan loved. The one he had so cruelly crushed her for. The one who held his heart when it rightfully did not belong to her. Just how much could this girl love her Shravan? She could try all her life and she would not come close to her.
No. No matter how much Shravan loved this girl, if he even did, she was not his match. She could not love him enough. The only person in this world who loved him like he should be loved was her...Sanchi.
Slowly, she got up, wobbling as her knees throbbed but not stopping as she made her way towards the board she had thrown away. She picked it up, turned it over, and stared.
I love you, Shravanji. And you will see soon...you should love me too.
