I couldn't agree more. Just watching the whole match, every time they showed Shoaib, my heart went out for him. What a way to leave the game.What's worse is that disappointment was written all over his face and I definitely think he deserved better.

@Blue: True that....even his farewell speech made me moist eyed..I genuinely felt for the 'cricketer' in him.....The 'injuries' that he cited as the reason for his retirement seem more than merely physical, if you know what I mean...Truly a heartbreaking scene to see him sitting in the side lines like that, during the semis match... Unhappy

Talk about it. 21 years, I wasn't even born when he first played for India! Some country just wish they had half the talent and dedication he has for his country. But in the current world of corruption its just about money.

I read an article by an american journo in cricinfo recently....I believe he interviewed Tendul's manager and asked him if Tendul is aware of his place in every Indian's heart, and his answer though not a surprise, still made me salute Tendul once again...The manager said Tendul is indeed aware of the high pedestal he is held at and how he is an idol to every Indian...and that's why he made a conscious decision to set a good example to all those who look upto him...His life truly is an example to every Indian...every aspect of his life is quite exemplary and all that he got on his own merit and hardwork and values and priciples....

It's amazing what people taking steroids can do..........wasn't shoaib suspended for taking steroids? What's amazing is that even while taking Steroids, Shoaib couldn't get the best of Tendulkar, Sehwag etc..........

Tendulkar and Sehwag still managed to score tons of runs off of him..........

I just wish Shoaib didn't resort to cheating by taking steroids, I think he could have done alright without steroids but alas........

Exactly what I was going to say...Batsmen have JUST one chance, whereas for the bowlers, every ball they bowl is a chance...

Sachin Vs Shoaib was always a duel to look forward to....

It was rather sad to see Shoaib bidding farewell to the game in such a unceremonious way...He deserved better... Ouch

Why did he deserve better? The guy was taking steroids....he was cheating the sport....he was suspended for taking steroids.....how can a cheater deserve anything more? Anyone can do wonders if they are pumping their bodies with steroids..... Confused

Let's see him perform without steroids like other players do.......he should have been banned for cheating long time ago.... Smile

Shoaib Vs Sahin always reminds me of centurion 2003 WC..... wr Sachin smashed six off him over cover point...thwack !!!!! Cool

Any ways am a huge fan of Shoaib Akhtar...I love to see him bowl !!!!

funny how u psychotic people call us jealous and bashers whereas its OPENLY SEEN u guys r number 1 bashers and negativity spreaders and unbehaved people!

I posted these articles, along wid 1 praising sachin, and there u go these articles, get 2-3 pages in a few hours and Sachin gets hardly a REPLY!
