The episode began with Chandragupta trying to mount the hill as soon as feasible. Chanakya, however, made it far more difficult for him as he aimed at the pot Chandragupta was carrying on his back and made a hole on it with a stone. Chandragupta was bewildered to find the leakage on the pot. However, he didn't give up and with a stronger determination than before started mounting the hill while covering the hole on the pot with his palm. As he reached very near to the peak, bhadrabhat extended his hand for chandragupta to catch hold of but the latter refused to take any sort of help and finally managed to reach the peak and win the bet. The hunter collapsed onto the ground while the other slaves cheered Chandragupta. Chanakya didn't seem to be still satisfied however. When at night the woman was preparing a straw bed and Chandragupta helped her in the task and later when she asked him to take their food as he was about to leave and he obeyed without a word, she noticed his downcast mood and asked him the reason. She asked whether he was not happy with whatever he was getting. Chandragupta replied her that what he had done he had done for the sake of his companions and as for himself he would like to have freedom and to see his mother as his freedom meant his mother. Tears brimmed up in his eyes and he left. Bhadrabhat heard this and told to Chanakya. He asked whether it was the best idea to separate the kid from his mom. Chanakya assured him that nothing could be gained without loosing anything. And then he said that the last test of chandragupta was still pending. He wanted to test whether chandragupta could sell his soul for his freedom. He put this proposal in front of the hunter and somehow convinced him to go along with it. He said that he would ask whether chandragupta would be willing to have freedom at the cost of all the comforts he had earned so far for his companions and if he would agree then he would loss. In the cellar, the slaves were wondering what the next bet would be about and declared their faith on chandragupta that he would win again while chandragupta was standing there quietly. Just at the moment, the door of the cellar opened and entered chanakya followed by the hunter, bhadrabhatt and the woman. chandragupta went to him and joined his palms while Chanakya blessed him. Chanakya asked him whether he wanted freedom. And then he went on saying that chandragupta would be freed only at the cost of the comforts of his companions. Chanakya told him that he had to choose either his freedom or his companions. Chandragupta was confused for a moment, rather baffled as he couldn't make the decision. He looked at the sulky faces of his companions and went to them. one of them told him to choose his freedom over them and run away from the place when he had the opportunity. however, one glance at their grumpy faces and the tears rolling down their cheeks helped chandragupta to make his mind up and an expression of determination and calm settled on his face. He turned to Chanakya and answered that he hankered for liberty but not at the cost of his companions. As he said that all the slaves hugged him and sobbed along with him. chanakya then declared that he had won the test. He gestured Bhadrabhatt who gave the hunter the amount with which he had bought chandragupta and declared that Chandragupta was free. Chandragupta and all the slaves were enraptured at this. Then chanakya and bhadrabhat took Chandragupta alongwith them and went to the same blacksmith who tied the shackles of slavery on his legs and asked him to break them. After that chandragupta went to his home alongwith Chanakya and bhadrabhat. He called his mother and mura came out. She was ecstatic to see her son back and hugged her affectionately. They both shed tears. Then mura's gaze fall on Chanakya and bhadrabhat and chandragupta introduced them with his mother. mura fall into chankya's feet and expressed her gratitude for freeing her son and asked what he wanted in return. chanakya simply said that he wanted to rest for the time being and he would leave the next day. At night chanakya tooh mura to a place from where the palace of magadh could clearly be seen. He told her that her son could sit on the throne of Magadh. She asked him whether he was making mockery of her poverty. He replied that if she would so desire her son could become the next king of Magadh. And then he said that he could understand that the blood of a true kshatriya was running on the veins of Chandragupta. After hesitation, mura replied that he was right. They had a small kingdom and her husband was the ruler of it. once Dhananand's army attacked their kingdom and ravaged it and annihilated her husband and many other people. She and her brother had managed to escape with chandragupta and a few other people. chanakya said that her son would avenge her husband's death. He said that her name along with her son in golden would become memorable in history. Her son would be known by her name as Chandragupta Maurya. Mura finally gave her consent. The next day morning, Chandragupta Maurya woke up in his hut and finding his mother nowhere he went outside. There he found chanakya and bhadrabhat were getting ready for their journey. He went to chanakya and expressed his gratitude and asked whether they were going that very day. chanakya confirmed and said that Chandragupta was also going with them. Chandragupta was shocked and he refuted immediately and turned to his mother who was standing behind him and asked her to tell them that he wasn't going anywhere but even his mother said that he had to go. Then Chanakya told him that if he remembered he had bought chandragupta from the hunter by giving him the amount and now chandragupta belonged to him. Chandragupta was enraged to hear this and said in a threatening voice that his body may become the slave of Chanakya but his soul would never. the scene sifts to the cellar in king's palace. The hunter was imprisoned and being tormented. mudrarakshas entered the cellar and interrogated the hunter. He blurted out all the incidents ranging from his meeting with Chanakya till date. Mudrarakshas immediately understood that this kid was no ordinary boy and suspected that some grave conspiracy was going on in Chanakya's mind and he ordered the soldiers to imprison chanakya as well as the boy. The scene sifts to a desert area where chanakya and bhadrabhat thanked some poeple. They were in disguise. The bhadrabhat opened the lid of a trunk out of which came out Chanadragupta. A cloth was tied around his mouth. As soon as he was set free by Bhadrabhat he jumped off the cart on which the trunk was placed and sprinted away. Bhadrabhat called his name out but Chanakya remained as calm as ever.
