lol, people, may be you love him as an actor. can you please get facts before defending such things. you can defend their films and acting, but not wrong things they have done. may be you guys are so small, when these things happened. That doesn't mean, others are also so young and targeting stars because of jealousy over not getting hot, rich  hunk like him or some thing. :/  Sleepy

and why these cases are dragging on and on. Because of his power. holiday on beaches, my foot.Sleepy

Salman was drunk during hit-and-run mishap confirms medical report: Court

Mumbai-Key prosecution witness D K Bhalshankar, who conducted the Chemical Analyser (CA) test on actor Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run case, deposed before the Bandra metropolitan court on Friday, standing by his report which concluded that Salman was drunk.

The report said that Salman was drunk on the night of September 28, 2002, when he allegedly rammed his Land Cruiser into a Bandra bakery, killing one and injuring four.

Bhalshankar deposed on the authenticity of the test and how he carried it out at the Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory.

The test states that 62 mg of alcohol was found in Salman's blood sample, which is excessive of the permissible limit. Salman was missing for eight hours after the accident at 2.45 am, and was tested upon only 12 hours later at around 2 pm, due to which the police had a slim chance of finding alcohol in his body.

The prosecution has cited 64 witnesses in the case and many of them have already deposed. Among them is Ravindra Patil, bodyguard of Salman, who later died in 2007....(more about him,,, just scroll down)

Patil had deposed earlier saying that Salman was on the wheel and he was drunk. He further said he had asked the actor not to drink that night as it may prove dangerous while driving but Salman did not pay heed to his advice.

The victims who were injured in the incident had also deposed saying they had seen the actor getting down from the driver's seat after the mishap.

The trial court had framed charges against the actor which included culpable homicide not amounting to murder but this charge was dropped later. However, the actor was tried for other charges including rash and negligent driving for which maximum punishment is two years.

Noorulla Mahboob Sharif had died in the mishap while Abdul Rauf Shaikh, Kalim Mohammed Pathan and Munna Malai Khan were injured.

Yet, the test threw favourable results to the police. Bhalshankar will furnish his report to the court in the next hearing.

The Witness
Being a prime witness in a controversial case can often extract a heavy price. Reporter Bhupen Patel leafs through Mumbai's crime diary and traces the fate of those who dared to testify, in some of the most high-profile cases, One of them is salman hit-and-run case

increasing pressure from vips, taken his job & then life

Police constable Ravindra Patil's case, a witness in the Salman Khan hit-and run incident is truly tragic. Patil was in the vehicle driven by Salman in the early hours of September 28, 2002 in Bandra, when it ran over pavement dwellers killing one and injuring four.

Following the intense media glare and increasing pressure, Patil disappeared from the limelight. The court issued a summons to him to appear before it and later issued an arrest warrant when he did not.

The disappearance cost Patil his police job. He was traced to Panchgani in 2006 and deposed before the court.

With no job left and the building pressure to testify against a famous personality, Patil took to excessive drinking and was abandoned by his family.

His loneliness and addiction grew stronger till he was diagnosed with tuberculosis. Patil was left to die in the hospital with not a single relative or family member to take care of him.

Finally he succumbed to his injuries in October 2007. The end was worse: none of his relatives turned up to claim his body.

Thanks for sharing this article, never read this, I know there was a case against Salman, but never realise he really could be the driver, so many different stories. Seems like the media wasn't that powerful back then. Salman should have know better. But who I'm to judge, hope justice prevail at the end. The wrong people get punished.

I understand that Salman Khan has a notoriously large amount of fans, for his acting, general appeal as a person and also his good looks. But it is very stupid when people put their infatuation with an actor as enough to neglect/ignore very serious crimes he has committed. This is exactly why Salman Khan still is at large and ultimatley has not paid the price for the things he has done, his unwavering fan-base. It is okay to offer support for someone trying to overcome a crisis, but Khan is neither apologetic for the things he has been reported doing or is he actually doing a reasonable amount of time in Jail.

There was a ton of evidence proving Salman Khan to be guilty in his manslaughter charge, as was there a lot of prove indicating that he was abusive to Aishwarya Rai.  These are both very serious crimes and it horrific to think that even several of his FEMALE fans wish to ignore this misogynistic behavior and continue blindly sticking up for him.

I know he gives to charity and blah blah, but that doesn't CANCEL OUT killing a human and beating up a woman. It never will. there are a lot of good things about India, but the ability for the law to allow celebrities and politicians to cut corners and evade being criminally prosecuted is a giant failure.

There are things that are wrong and things that are right, just because an actor can be morally corrupt at times does not mean we as their audience has to put up with it OR succumb to giving them excuses.

if salman is guilty then i really hope he does pay for what he has done, no amount of charity work can undo a bad deed like that...i adore salman as an actor, but as a person, im not too fond of his personality
for those salman fans out there that think salman can do no wrong, imagine if the guy who died was one of your family members, would you be that forgiving or would you want him to go to jail and pay for his bad deeds
