maan does have feelings for geet, but he is justifying it with using the friend card. He feels connected to her since they have gone through the same pain, they have both tasted the thrones that come with love. He cares for her because he can't bear to see her in pain. He is in love with geet but doesn't want to admit or accept it. I just showed geet's point of view in this update...but i have a reason for that so sorry for the confusion.
Though there is a difference between maan and geet. Geet has accepted that she has feelings for maan, but doesn't want to give in to them, while maan doesn't even accept the fact that he has feelings for geet yet. The concern that he shows for geet he justifies it with the friends excuse and that he feels sorry for her since he has gone through a similar pain and heartbreak.
