If Beethoven were alive today- he'd be a DJ and this is would be his story!ππ
Rajeev Khandelwal, a 26 years old from small town in India comes to Maximum City Mumbai carrying just three things- a guitar, a pair of head phones and a dream.ππ
With the help of his late father's friend,
played by Yatin Karekar he lands a job at "Tango Charlie"- the city's
most rocking night club. ππ Mohan Kapoor, the owner of the club promises
and makes him the most indispensable DJπ³π³ in town based on his prodigious
talent.π³π³ Saturday nights now have a whole new meaningππ . His world is now
one big drink all you can, party all you can to the hardest, with the
hottest girl at the nightclub- Mrinalini Sharmaππ . He is living his
dream- π³π³ a flashy lifestyle, a bunch of friends as close as family, and
the coolest DJ in townπ. It is really his life, his friends β HIS MIX.π³π³π³
Rajeev
is, however made for bigger stuff-he isn't going to settle for being
only a DJπππ . His dream is to be a composer for main stream Indian movies.π³π³
Celebrated film maker Anurag Kashyap gives him the break to compose
music in his forthcoming film and Rajeev gives it his best.π³π³π³
But
life has other cards to hand him, and it does deal him an unplayable
hand. Tinnitus coupled with an over exposure to loud noise takes away -
his hearing.πππ With him going deaf, his dreams are shattered- πππ and he ends
up going into a very dark and lonely place.π π
In this depressed state and battling internal demons he meets his anti thesis Soha Ali Khan, a beautiful free spirited, bohemian, speech therapist for whom life is treasure, and every minute is worth living to the fullest. πππ
Rajeev and Soha come together with just one common thread- both of them can't hear a thing.
Soha coaches Rajeev to get started with his communication and helps him pick the pieces in his life.πππ The fact that he can't hear music still cuts into his soul. πππ In his new found love for life, Rajeev chances upon a kathak performance, which makes him, feel the vibrations of musicπππ . His body slowly but surely starts begins to do what no other musician can doππ . Rajeev now begins to feel the music but still can't hear.ππ It sets off a whole chain reaction to his life, and now, he feels music everywhere.πππ
Will Rajeev, now get his chance to get people to hear what he has for them, and compose his masterpiece?π³π³
Soundtrack is based on a true story.ππ

Looks like Bollywood is going to have it's quota full of sibling clashes this year. Even as brother-sister 'jodi' of Tusshar and Ekta Kapoor are making light of their Love Uβ¦ Mr. Kalakaar! and Ragini MMS clashing with each other on the 13th May weekend, there is yet another sibling clash which is all set to have the tongues wagging. This is between the Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan who would be taking on each other as their Aarakshan and Soundtrack π³π³ clash with each other.
"Both films would release on 12th August, the weekend that leads to Independence Day holiday of 15th August", a trade source informs, "This way, Aarakshan as well as Soundtrack are looking at capitalising on the 4 day long weekend available to them."ππ
One wonders though whether Saif and Soha are aware about the clash as the developments have been quite recent.πππ
"Saif would be quite prepared for the 12th August release since Prakash Jha has been making quick progress with Aarakshan. In fact this is one of his fastest shoots till date. Since the film deals with the topical issue of reservation, it makes sense for the makers to release it around the Independence Day as it also makes a huge socio-political statement. They would certainly not want to let go off this date; more so because the film arrives after Jha's last big hit Raajneeti and audience is waiting with bated breath to see what next he has to offer", the source continues.
As for Soundtrack, the film's release announcement has come as a surprise since it was hardly in news and is yet to see a promotional campaign being put together. The film is an official remake of a Canadian film It's All Gone Pete Tong and features Soha as a deaf girl. Says Soha, "I can't imagine myself in a world where I can't hear anything. I converse so much with people in real life and to be put in a situation like this, it has been a challenge for me." The film stars Rajeev Khandelwal in the role of a DJ.π³π³π³
Obviously both films have altogether different theme, genre and scale which means that at the face value,πππ it is not a clash that would be giving Saif any sleepless nights.ππ Now whether he along with Soha too would laugh it all way just like Tusshar and Ekta would be known only closer to the film's release. However for those hunting for a spicy clash involving real life brother and sister, πππ Aarakshan v/s Soundtrack would be good enough reason to raise an alarm.πππ
