           PART 19

 

Mayank escorted Nupur to her room. Nupur wished he would leave her at the door but she had no heart to tell him that and Mayank just entered the room without invitation. He lead her to the sofa and when she had seated herself, he started pacing the room.. for the first time Nupur saw the ever confident and relaxed Mayank , suffering from nerves… that was exactly what he was suffering from.. the  pain he had seen in Nupur's eyes has shattered something inside him… he had never thought he will be a source of pain to her but he realized he had done exactly that… he wanted to correct all that… he wanted to erase the past few nights and again stand on the same dance floor with Nupur in his arms , telling him she loved him… he so wanted the time to come back… but now that he knew that was not possible he still wanted to make everything right… but the problem was how?

Nupur just saw him pacing the room , not knowing what would happen next.. she had no idea what was going on in Mayank's mind .. until he finally turned towards her and came to sit on his knees beside her…

Mayank: " Nupur…. "

Nupur met his eyes and saw the guilt evident in his eyes…

Her heart melted at that look… her mind tried to be logical.. it even tried to remind her of that night but then her heart took over.. and it reminded her of the love… her love for Mayank.. in the end , as it always happens, logic lost to love and Nupur felt herself overwhelmed by the feelings she saw in Mayank's eyes..

Nupur: " Maaynk…."

Mayank: " shhhssss… Nupur aj tum kuch na kaho.. aj mujhe bolne do… meine tumse door jane ke bohat koshish ke… bohat koshish ke lekin….….( he held her face in his hands) tum sahe the Nupur…"

Nupur just sat staring at him with no idea what to reply…

Mayank: " mujhe laga tum abhe bohat amateur ho… tum mere sath nahe chal sako ge… lekin sach to ye hai ke mein stupid hoon.. mujhe ehsas he nahe hua ke tum nahe balke mein tmare bagair nahe reh sakta! ( Nupur held her breath… she was sure she was dreaming… and she was afraid to move or make a sound which will break her dream…) " Nupur…"

Nupur closed her eyes.. waiting for those words…

Mayank: " Nupur.. I Love You…"

Nupur finally opened her eyes and saw Mayank sitting so close to her that their breaths were mingling and faces touching… their eyes met and she realized … he was waiting.. waiting for her answer….

Nupur : ( looking him in the eyes) " I love you Mayank…"

They both sat there , with eyes locked and two connected hearts rejoicing… Nupur could feel her eyes brighten with tears… he loved her… she could think of nothing else.. only one truth vibrated in her body… he loved her…

Mayank: (kissing her eyes) " I love you Nupur… I  love you…"

Nupur closed her eyes and let the words embed in her heart and soul forever… he loved her… her heart had waited so long for just this moment.. finally her wait to be loved had ended…

Mayank leaned in to kiss her and her heart knew in that instant that their love was sealed for ever….the wait had ended..

Gunjan: "Nupur! I knew it!"

Nupur had called Gunjan in the morning to tell her about Mayank's confession last night. Gunjan was too excited and her excitement was transferring into Nupur too.. asusual talking to Gunjan , eliminated all the fears Nupur had.. it was as if finally she could believe in all that had happened..

Nupur: " haha! yes you knew it! thanks Gunjan!"
Gunjan: " mar khane hai? Ye koi time hai formal hone ka? Acha ye batao tum dono wapis kab aa rahe ho?"

Nupur; " Aj he aa jaen gay.. aur Mayank dad se baat bhe Karen gay aj!"
Gunjan: " wow! Nupur agar tum mere samne hote to mein tmen zor se hug kar lete!"
Nupur: " haha! ye batao prince kesa hai? Aur Sam?"

Gunjan: " dono theekh hain! Bs tum jaldi se wapis aa jao!"

                       ********************

Gunjan: " Sam!!!"
Gunjan was calling out for Sam so loudly that he was sure the whole town could hear it.

Sam ( entering into the room) : " kya hua Gunjan?"
Gunjan: " kya hau? Tmen pata nahe kya hua Sam!"
Sam: " han right ! but I  don't think I will be staying ignorant for long!"
he winked at her and she tried to glare at him but failed miserably.. she was too happy for that…

Gunjan: " Sam abhe Nupur ka phone aya tha! Mayank bhai us se pyar krte hain!"
Sam who was about to pick up the newpaper, just stopped in mid air and turned towards her..

Sam: " what?"

Gunjan: " haha! just look at your face! han Sam han Mayank bhai bhe Nupur se pyar kerte hain ! mujhe abhe Nupur ke call aye the!"
Sam : " I hope you wished my sister in law joy from my side.."
he just said that lainly.. as usual he didn't let show his emotions but Gunjan could read his eyes… she knew he was just as happy as her for the couple… she went to him and hugged him…

Gunjan: " did I ever mention I love you Mr Samrat!"

Sam:  ( hugging her back) " no you didn't! but you see Mrs Samrat I still love you!"

Nupur and Mayank were on their way back to home.. a lot was going on in Nupur's mind and she had too many questions to ask him, but somehow she couldn't find the right words…

" instead of making those faces I will suggest you speak up sweetheart!"

Nupur looked up at Mayank's voice and snuggled closer to him …

Nupur: " only if you say so! " she winked at him and hid her face in his shoulders…

Nupur: ( in a accusing tone)  " you knew dad was sending me away…"

Mayank enveloped one of his arms around her before replying: " han mujhe pata tha… and that is why I didn't reply to you when you confessed your love to me.. ( Nupur looked up at him)  trust me I had wanted to do exactly that.. by that time I knew I loved you.. but I didn't want to be a hindrance between your future.. your dad was right in sending you away to study and …"

Nupur : " but if I want to study I could have done that living with you , right here.."
Mayank: " well I must admit I didn't think of that then…and unconsciously hurt you.. but there was not a moment when I wasn't hurt whenever I saw the pain in your eyes.."
Nupur hugged him and knew it was time to let the sadness of past bury and embrace the joy future held for her…

Nupur: " Mayank I love you…"

Mayank: ( kissing her forehead) : " I love you too…and once your dad gives us consent, which I am sure he will ..happily…I will marry you immediately.. I can no longer wait for you to be mine forever…  oh and now that we have time I wanted to ask you something.. is Switzerland ok?"
Nupur blinked and looked up, : " for what?"

Mayank chukled: " for our honeymoon darling!"

Nupur blushed and said:" eerrmmm… would you mind if I play some music?"
Mayank just grinned and she hit him on the shoulder before switching on the radio…

As soon as they both heard the song playing, Nupur looked up at him and saw he was smiling..he pulled her back to himself before saying, " You belong with me…"
