The Who's Who of Kolkata were present under the same roof as the city played host to an awards function.
What was special about this function was that it had several famous faces from the tinsel town of Bollywood attend it as well. Among the awardees was Bolly beauty, Raveena Tandon Thadani, who won the Best Actress Award for her role in "Laboratory".
Said the lady, "I feel fantastic, more so, because I got it for a film, which isn't in my language and also from an industry that I don't hail from. I am grateful to Tollywood for having bestowed this award on me. Now, I really feel that Kolkata is my second home." Says Indraneil Sengupta, who was seen sitting cozily with wife, Barkha, "I got a Special Jury Award for "Arekti Premer Golpo" and it feels great to have won. Awards boost me to perform better and not having my name even in the nominees list, is disheartening. It is good that my hard work for this role got noticed. This role is very close to my heart." Also seen at the awards ceremony were Meghna Malik, Cezanne Khan, Udit Narayan, Mamta 'Munni' For Sharma and Tolly director, Raja Sen.
Shweta Tiwari to essay nine roles in her play 'Aine Ke Sau Tukde'...
While Priyanka Chopra played out as many as twelve roles in 'What's Your Rashee?', TV actress Shweta Tiwari will essay as many as nine roles on a more challenging medium – a live theatrical performance. Her play is titled 'Aine Ke Sau Tukde', and is written and directed by Saif Hyder Hasan.
The USP of this stage performance is that it is a solo performance for Shweta. Ever since she won Bigg Boss 4, one thought that Shweta will be all over the place. Instead the girl has been weighing her options carefully. "This play is the most challenging thing I've done in my life. And all I have been doing post Bigg Boss, is attending rehearsals. It's the opportunity of a lifetime, and want it to get the due it truly deserves within India and even abroad if possible," she said.
