Written Update & Video Vampire Diaries Season2ep12
The Descent
Jules the werewolf wakes up naked , with blood on her face and hands. She finds a wrecked campsite nearby and two dead bodies. She's trying to clean things up when she hears a deputy drive up.
She pauses to turn on the waterworks. The deputy gets out and she turns and tells him a wolf killed her friends.
When he goes to call it in, she knocks him out.
Elena goes to meet Stefan. She thinks everything's hunky dory since Katherine is still stuck in the tomb. Stefan is worried about Klaus coming after her. He wants to question Isobel, but she thinks that will upset her deal with Elijah.
She takes a sip of vervane and hands him some, so he can build up a tolerance, like Katherine did.
At Damon's, Rose tries to brace herself for the doom she's sure is impending since she got bit by a werewolf.
Damon feeds her some blood to heal her, then lies that she's getting better.
Elena comes in and sees Rose's festering wound.
Damon tells her privately that he thinks Rose is dying and her infection is getting worse. He pretends not to care if she dies. "The sooner she dies, the better. It's gloomy as hell in here," he says.
Caroline finds Tyler at a booster function. She congratulates him on not hurting anyone during his first full moon. She tells him about the legend saying a werewolf bite can kill a vampire.
Matt interrupts. He believes her when she says there's nothing going on with Tyler. He tries to talk to her, but ends up kissing her in full view of everyone instead.
She stops and tells him he can't.
Jules introduces herself to Sheriff Forbes. Rick sees Jules in the Grill and calls Damon. Stefan joins him. He asks about contacting Isobel. Ric reminds Stefan not to trust her, but says he'll look for her number.
Back at the house, Rose feels miserable. Elena helps her into Damon's bed, which Elena's never seen before. "Maybe I expected there to be silk sheets," Elena says.
Rose envies how Elena is loved.
Rose asks about her deal with Elijah. She thinks Elena is determined to die.
Rose tries to sleep but starts hallucinating about Trevor and something with horses. Elena gives her more blood, but she pukes it up. Elena runs for a towel and Rose disappears.
Then suddenly she's standing behind Elena and takes her by the neck, saying "It's all your fault, Katerina!"
Elena shouts that she's not Katherine and Rose de-vamps. Rose shakes it off and apologizes. She doesn't know what's happening to her.
Ric texts Stefan Isobel's number. Stefan calls her and leaves a message, saying it's about Elena.
Damon comes into the Grill and goes to talk to Jules. Stefan takes a call from Isobel.
Damon tells Isobel she won't live to see another full moon, unless she tells her how to cure a wolf bite.
Jules taunts him and says there's no cure.
Elena checks on Rose and finds her gone. She makes a call, telling someone to come home. She hears a noise and goes to investigate and finds a drained bag of blood in the basement.
She finds Rose tearing through Damon's blood supply and Rose comes at her again, thinking she's Katherine.
She attacks Elena, who is only able to get away because Rose steps into the sunlight. But Rose catches up to her and grabs her again. Elena digs her fingers into Rose's werewolf bite to get away and barricades herself in a room.
She opens the curtains to let sun in and grabs a chair leg for a stake. Rose knocks on the door, saying she knows she's not Katherine and asking her for help.
Back at school, Matt stops Caroline wanting to know what's up. She fights back tears and says she loves him. Matt says if she loved him, she'd tell him what's going on.
She runs.
Back at the house, still barricaded in the room, Elena doesn't hear any noise from the other side. She goes to investigate, holding the stake.
Damon appears. Rose is gone.
Cut to Rose at the high school booster function, retching beside a Dumpster. A janitor sees her and asks if she's OK. She chomps down on his neck.
Damon arrives to the scene, called by Liz. She tells him a vampire killed someone. Elena calls Stefan. Damon gives her a stake.
A couple walks to their car. The girl gets in and the guy disappears. Rose then starts in on her. Damon pulls her off. She sees what she's done and starting crying that she never wanted to hurt anyone. She begs Damon to make it stop.
He takes her home.
She wakes up drenched in sweat in his bed. "You went on a murderous rampage, it happens," Damon tells her.
Rose says the urge to kill is her least favorite pat of being a vampire, and also the fact that the first few kills felt good.
Rose tells Elena she has to fight. Suddenly, Rose starts writhing in pain.
Cut to Tyler waiting for Caroline on her doorstep. He asks her why she'd risk being near him if a bite could kill her.
She asks him why he doesn't want anyone to care about him. She starts babbling and he shuts her up by kissing her. She lets him and then says he can't. "Everyone just needs to stop kissing me!" she says, and goes inside.
Damon comforts Rose as she lies feverishly in bed. She remembers her old life, on a sunny hillside with horses all around, and dreams Damon is there. He's controlling her dream.
Rose says she misses being human and mattering to people. She thanks him for making the pain go away. She says she's not afraid anymore.
In bed, he gently lets go of her hand.
On the sunny hillside, she challenges him to a race to the trees. As she counts to three, back in bed he slowly takes out a stake and positions it over her heart. When she reaches 3, he drives it in.
Liz meets Damon on a dark road and presents Rose's body to her. Liz thanks him for keeping the town safe. He says he'll bury the body.
Jules meets with Tyler at the Grill. She tells him she knows he's a werewolf and Mason was, too. She knows Caroline is a vampire. She tells him Mason was murdered by the vampires. Jules tells him the town is crawling with vampires. "But don't worry, we'll get them," she says.
She tells him there are other werewolves on the way.
Damon comes home and is surprised Elena is there. She tries to comfort him, but he insists he didn't care about Rose.
He tells her it sucks and Jules was coming after him. She realizes he feels guilty. He denies it, because that would be human of him.
She hugs him good night.
Elena comes home to find Stefan waiting. He didn't find Isobel. But Uncle John is there.
A woman stops when she sees a man lying in the middle of the road. It's a very drunk Damon. She says she doesn't want trouble, but he says that's all he has.
He compels her to stay still and then tells her he has a secret he can't tell anyone.
"Are you going to hurt me?" she asks. "I'm not sure," he says.
Then he says he has to because he's not human and he misses killing. That's his secret. He begs him not to. He lets her go. Then he grabs her and chomps down, vamped out and loving it.

Johnathan Gilbert's return to Mystic Falls comes as an unhappy surprise to Elena, Jenna and Damon. Caroline lets Stefan know about her conversation with Tyler, and Stefan does his best to reach out to a confused and conflicted Tyler. Jeremy comforts Bonnie after her disturbing conversation with Jonas… When Jules takes a hostage, the situation quickly escalates into a violent confrontation.
