If I have to choose important names in my phonebook I would pick Punit Issar first. My colleagues from the television industry Rajeev Khandelwal and Drashti Dhami are also important names that come to my mind.

Is Holi good for TV actors's life?

IANS | Mar 17, 2011, 05.31pm IST

Veer and Tapu from Uttaran
Thanks to their constant presence in front of the camera, some TV actors are not so comfortable with playing Holi, but there are veterans like Bhairavi Raichura and Urvashi Dholakia who don't mind taking a dip in organic colours

"I enjoy playing Holi. But it's also true that we have to be cautious as we are actors. The colour often stays on and you have to scrub it off because you cannot turn up on sets with a reddish tone on your skin," Arjun Bijlani, who plays the male lead in "Pardes Mein Mila Koi Apna Saa", told.

"Before playing Holi, I make sure that I put on a lot of oil or cream so that the colour doesn't stay. Sometimes, even make up is unable to cover it," said Arjun who has taken an off on Holi and would be celebrating it with his friends.

Vivaan Bhatena, currently seen in Zee TV's "Sanskar Lakshmi", says their profession often takes away the charm of the Holi festivities.

"It indeed becomes difficult when you are an actor. You are often scared to play Holi because if you turn up on the sets all coloured, it becomes a problem for the producer," said Vivaan, who would be hosting a Zoom Holi party and celebrating the festival with his friends.

"It has happened with me once. I played Holi and the colour didn't go off my hands. It became difficult for the make-up artist to hide it and I was then instructed to keep my hands off the camera frame," he added.

But there are some actors, who indulge without any worry.

Bhairavi Raichura, seen as Rajni in "Sasural Genda Phool", says she always plays Holi.

"I am always with my family and childhood friends on Holi and play with herbal and organic colours which don't harm the skin," she said.

Sonali Verma, seen as lead character Naitik's mother in "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai", is enjoying the five-day Holi celebrations on the sets of the show and isn't worried about the affect of colours.

"My whole family is in Delhi and my Holi has been on the sets of 'Yeh Rishta...' The use of colours never bothers me because it's during the shoot and everyone remains conscious as they have to maintain the continuity," she said.

Small screen's bad girl Urvashi Dholakia doesn't believe that a career becomes a hindrance for TV actors when it comes to enjoying the festival.

"I think Holi is a celebration which should be enjoyed by everyone, including the actors. I don't think that a career is a hindrance as in today's age we have organic colours which are not at all harmful. Gone are the days when we had to give up the celebrations," said Urvashi, currently seen in a negative role in "Apno Ke Liye Geeta Ka Dharamyudh".

"And lets not forget that if a career was a problem for actors, Holi parties would have not been thrown by the biggies of the industry for the last so many years," she added.

insists he was once, "a very shy guy. I could never speak to girls ' I was scared of them. I went to study in Pune and thereafter my life took a different turn. I am a completely different person now ' I am more confident and can speak with women," says Harshad with a twinkle in his chocolate brown eyes.
Love Life: Harshad has been linked with Sonam Mann, a public relations executive turned actor. While the two have been spotted together, they haven't come on record about their relationship. Before this he was allegedly in a relationship with actor Additi Gupta.

SUSHANT RAJPUT

Claim to Fa m e :

He confesses that being a heartthrob has its share of nightmarish experiences too. "I was in a disc in Delhi recently where I felt I was suddenly mobbed by this bunch of girls who almost molested me! I started feeling scared for the first time. It was 2.30 am and I wanted to go home 'that was very unlike me because I love to party till the wee hours of the morning."

Wow factor: Boyish charm, easy smile and down to earth nature makes him an
instant hit with the fairer sex.

ARJUN BIJLANI

Claim to fame: Arjun Bijlani might have done bit roles on the small screen in the past, but his character as Mayank in Miley Jab Hum Tum made him a teenage heartt h ro b
almost overnight. Arjun is now the guitar-strumming Chandu in Pardes Mein Mila koi Apna. An actor by chance, Arjun confesses that he wanted to be a "model" because of the money. After making heads turn in Remix and Left Right Left, Arjun discovered that he "enjoyed" facing the camera too!
Love Life: There were rumours that he was in a relationship with a model called Neha and then with Sanaya Irani. Now he's a swinging single and not willing to mingle. "I want to get married, may be in the next few years, if and when I get the right girl," he shares.

The unassuming actor confesses that he is "pleasantly surprised" with all the love and adoration that's being showered upon him.
Love Life: There were rumours that he is dating his on screen sister-in-law and co-star Avantika Hundal.
Wow factor: Tall, dark, handsome. Arhaan redefines the bad boy character on telly.

KARAN KUNDRA

Claim to Fame: Most of his fans know him only as Arjun Punj, the romantic hero he played in Kitani Mohabbat Hai. In fact his on screen popularity catapulted him into the big league on small screen, got him a lead role in Ekta Kapoor's Bayttaab Dil Kee Tamanna Hai and despite his two left feet landed him in a dance show, Zara Nach Ke Dikha 2, followed by Kitani Mohabbat Hai Season 2, brought back on TV, by audience demand! For someone who was a businessman who is an actor by chance, Arjun admits that he doesn't take his stardom seriously, (this despite the 1 lakh fans he has on a social networking site) and "is easy going" who "loves to party all day long".
Love Life: He is currently dating coactor Kritika Kamra.
Wow factor: This Punjabi munda exudes charm and style that makes him quite the heartbreaker that he is.
MISHAL RAHEJA

Claim to Fame: The undisputed superstar of the small screen, Mishal has balanced an interesting mix of reality and daily soaps. He's done Pyaar Vyaar and All That, Love Story, Mano Ya Na Mano 2, Big Money, but it is his lead role as Dutta Bhau in Laagi Tujhse Lagan that got him noticed. An entrepreneur Mishal loves to play the guitar.
Love Life: Girls rejoice. Mishal's confessed that he was in a "relationship for four years" but it is over now. He is "single" but insists that he "doesn't want to mingle". However, according to those close to him, Mishal might make a commitment only if he finds a suitable girl. Being a mamma's boy, he is known to be extremely demanding in nature.
Wow factor: An expressive pair of eyes and a mysterious smile.
KARAN TACKER

Claim to Fame: Karan Tacker was in the news with his debut show Love Ne Mila Di Jodi. He is currently essaying the role of Shantanu Khandelwal in Rang Badalti Odhani, where he raised many eyebrows and set the temperature soaring in his towel scene ala Ranbir Kapoor in Saawariya. A Delhiite who moved
on to Mumbai, Karan admits that as a teenager he was something of a "brat". A marketing professional, Karan claims he loves the camera and enjoys being an "actor." Well that's not usual for someone who would wake up and greet his parents every morning in an actor's voice!
    Love Life:
An extremely private person Karan has had its share of link-ups, but not much is known about them. We hear Karan's ideal woman needs to be "intelligent" and have a "good personality".
Wow factor: Cute and boyish appeal. Of course, not to mention those magnificent six-pack abs he flaunted in his show recently.

Kapil's thought about Holi

Kapil Nirmal:
I don't like to play Holi. I love the festival but the idea of getting coloured isn't too appealing to me. They remain on your body for days thus the disinterest. But if I have to play I would play it with Anjali Abrol. I would like to dance with her on my all time favourite Rang Barse Bheege Chunarwali from Silsila.

Arjun Bijlani:

Favourite colour: My favourite colour is black and white and on Holi I love the red gulaal.

A prank played on you on Holi that you will never forget?
Years back my dad had played a prank on me on Holi. He had taken us to a studio for Holi celebration where they had made a pool of coloured water. I was a hydrophobic then and knowing this my dad tricked me and pushed me into water. Even though I was scared then, my phobia for water has gone after that incident.

Holi you played in school that you remember? Actually we used to have holidays that time and we used to play Holi in the society with Pichkaaris.

Your all time favourite Holi song? 'Do me a favour let's play Holi' and the all time Holi song, 'Rang Barse'.

Chandu sings for his 'Special' friend in Pardes Mein Mila Koi Apna..

Thursday, March 24, 2011 | 4:11:27 PM IST (+05:30 GMT)   Comments 29 Comments Chandu sings for his 'Special' friend in Pardes Mein Mila Koi Apna..

Chandu has a cute move in plan to impress Nirupama in Imagine's Pardes Mein Mila Koi Apna..

Love is in the air for Chandu (Arjun Bijlani) and Nirupama (Bhavna Khatri) in Imagine and Reliance Big Productions' Pardes Mein Mila Koi Apna. Things have fallen in place for them with Chandu getting Niru the job of a waitress in the restaurant he works at.

However, Chandu will soon be forced by his family to stop working as they do not want his studies to get hampered. His absence in the restaurant will make Nirupama tense.

But things will be back to normal very soon and Chandu will resume duty. When he gets back to the restaurant, Chandu realizes that Niru is angry at him. The lover boy that he is, makes a cool idea to impress his girl..

Our source states, "Chandu declares in the restaurant that he will sing a special song for his close friend. Niru feels happy and thinks that she is the 'Special Friend' that Chandu is referring to. However, she is surprised that he is dedicating the song to someone else..and she is doubly amazed to see that person".

Who is that special person? And will Niru forgive Chandu?

We hear that the creative team is shooting this song sequence today. The number to be used is 'Musu Musu Haasi'..

If you are eager to know, tune in to Pardes Main Mila Koi Apna on Imagine, Mon-Fri, 10.30pm

Tomorrow is the big match between India and Pakistan as the two titans will clash in the semi-final of the 2011 World Cup at Mohali. With a huge hype built up around this much awaited match, a statement by Pakistani minister Rehman Malik about Pakistani player's involvement in match fixing has upset Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi and other ex-Pakistani players. We asked our television actors their take on the hyped semi final and match fixing statements.

I think the hype is a good thing. We Indians love to watch an India-Pakistan match. I am sure all Indians will be watching because it might be Sachin's last World Cup. I want India to win this match at any cost. It is nice to know that Pakistani political leaders will come to our country and I am sure it will help in building better relations. I want both the Indian and Pakistani players to play their natural game and not get affected by money. I hope Yuvraj and Dhoni show their power.
