Its pretty starightforward:
Its a reason behind sending him to boarding school. I think Sid, Nivi and Viren while playing had some child-like issues (as they were all kids), either Viren or Sid made a mistake, and Nivi sided with Sid. It seems from childhood only, Nivedita was more close to Sid. And YD or CC sided with Sid and this had a great impact in his mind. He was sent to residential school by his parents after this.
So he comes back with a vengeance plan, and he is creating a similar situation, when Nivedita, Sid's closest friend, will testify against Sid and speak for Viren.
all his actions till now for Nivedita, was on one hand seeding suspicion against Sid and trying to make believe Nivi that Viren is the most truthful guy.
Lessons to be learnt from this:
1. Let children settle their own scores. Children are children, they will fight but will also reconcile on their own.
2. Viren could have taken a right path to get back at Sid or his family. If he had maintained that goodness and that not faked, he was anyday a better candidate than Sid.
My guess is also, that since Sid lost Bhuban at a tender age, Dadasaheb and Dadi was extra cautious of all his needs. But that caused a harm to the other child, which they also never thought would happen.
