New Rules In Effect! [Updated: 1/27]

Hi everyone!

How are you doing? Hope this new year has started off well for everyone.

Well, I'm sure you remember the a new set of rules posted back about 6 months ago regarding closing Chat Clubs if they fail to abide by the IF COC. Well, here's the official post declaring that the rules are effective as of now.

Just as a refresher, the rules will work as the following:

3 Reported Posts  - 1 Day Shutdown
6 Reported Posts - 1.5 Days Shutdown
9 Reported Posts - 2 Days Shutdown
.
.
.
so on and so forth.

Note: If a Chat Club receives 10 warning (ie. 10 shutdowns), the CC will permanently be locked. Moreover, if we have put a lockdown on one of the CC's and we find that people are making new threads for the same CC, the member(s) involved will receive an immediate increase in their WL - no questions asked!

Also, we have noticed that when our warnings/reminders are posted within CC's, topic makers tend to edit out the title that refers to the page number the warning has been posted at. This is our first and last warning to each and every one of you! You may not edit the title of the CC if your CC has received a warning/reminder. Those who go against the rule will be dealt with accordingly.

To accommodate all the requests that have been put forth this topic, we bring you some changes and some new rules:

1. We will allow some leeway to criticize (ie. hypocrite, ignorant, fool etc.) as long as its not abusive or derogatory and is opinion based. However, you may not 'criticize' a particular member or a fan base. More so, you may not post screen shots of other members or quote them from another CC and mock/bash them. No personal comments on members are allowed either.
   
2. We will take action against those who display patterns of stalking only to report non-offensive posts

GK, a question
most people report posts because they are bored, are u just going to go by the number of reported posts or by the number of genuine "reports"?


also,
if there is only ONE defaulter in the whole CC, will the person be warned separately or will that put the whole cc in jeopardy?

Definitely the genuine reported posts.

Regarding your second question, if its that one person repetitively making offensive posts then they will be dealt with separately. However, if it carries through the CC then the whole CC will be liable.

So, what is in store for the pseudo-headed souls that endlessly stalk CC's and report trivial posts ? Will they suffer a WL too ?

gk, will we be given some prior notice that we already have 2 reported posts, 5 reported posts....etc?

@crazybobblehead: If they choose to go into an invite only CC and read content they dont like (especially if its only opinion based), thats their personal choice. However, if we notice that they they keep reporting posts that are not offensive, the DT will deal with the reporter accordingly.

@kavya.b: The note that you will receive saying your post in being locked will tell you how many posts were violating. If there are less than 3 posts violating the rules, a reminder note will be left stating which rules have been violated.

Isn't stalking an invite only CC against IF COC? And the person who's stalking is wholly responsible if he gets hurt, right? I think it's unfair to to just shut down the CC for so and so days or whatsoever.. if a member of an IO CC reports a post within the same CC, shutting it down is okay but stalking is against IF COC.. the person who reports should also get an increase in the WL as he is not abiding by it.   Edited by Ayesha.Ization - 13 years ago

Will we be told as to which posts are actually offensive?

@Ayesha.Ization: We'll look into the issue regarding stalking and offensive post and get back to you on that.

@ -Rinky- : If members would like us to post the violating posts, then we'll be happy to do so.

Well, i have few questions..............

1. Isnt CC our personal space where we are liable to post our opinions.............. and discuss with the fellow members? So if feel a certain actor is pathetic, or a certain couple is faking in public............or a certain actor is mindblowing and discuss in our CC, it shudnt affect any outsider? Also, references can be made to anyone............. how can one decipher who are we referring to if we dnt mention name ?

2. Isnt stalking an Invites only CC against COC rules.............just because some people have all the time in world to waste and report CC at random, they will go on reporting........is not correct.
