Kareena was offered Sabrina's role (that later went to vidya). htere's even an interview of Sabrina Lal way back when this project was first announced and casting was still in the making. And the reporter said we heard kareena is being approached to play you.

Also, even the director said he orignally went to Kareena to "play one of the two protagonists".

 

Jessica is hardly the protagonist in the movie. She dies within the first scene. It was Vidya's role.

I guess Kareena was afraid to do a movie with Rani... since Rani had a bad run at boxoffice lately.. its great that Vidya took this role.. she made an awesome team with Rani.

Adios, Rani wasnt even finalized at that point. Trust me, if Rani was rumored to play the other role, I'd know coz I'd be even more pissed for kareena having passed it up. All that was being reported was that kareena was approached for one of the roles. The other one was still being decided.
