India should learn something from the same SA middle order that collapsed against England?LOL

Instead of laughing, you should know when I posted that. It was after yesterday's game when SA middle order did well, while India's middle order didn't. But well, be happy thinking about their match against England, lol !

I found the point you were trying to make was laughable, so I laughed! ;)
If Kamran Akmal's wicket keeping somehow miraculously improves in one match and he does a good job behind the stumps, and say Dhoni has a bad day behind the stumps then I would not tell Dhoni to 'learn a thing or two' from Akmal lol.

They held their nerve so credit to them but I wouldn't try and read too much in to one bad performance by our middle order batsmen.

Oh I see. Looks like you're returning the favour by making me laugh now. Thanks, lolzz !

There is obviously some difference between Kakmal and SA. SA choked only once against England. Apart from that, their middle order was good in the other games they played. Indian middle order choked twice though, and that too against epic chokers - England & SA. It was the late middle order in fact, against England. Now let's see who has to learn from whom.

And SA have been consistent performers in the series so far. So obviously, you comparing them to Kakmal is such an epic joke ! Lol !!!

Anyways, thanks for the laugh. I had such a boring day Tongue

I'm glad I brightened up your otherwise boring day. ;)
So India have choked twice whereas SA have only choked once so therefore that makes SA a greater team? Erm, yeah ok thenWacko

You can label teams however you want, chokers, bad wicket keepers, poor fielders or whatever..it's all about how you perform on the day. One day Bangladesh are 58 all out and the next they beat England. One day you choke, the next you don't, simple isn't it?

Lol, did I say that ? Why are you blowing things out of proportion here !? I just said that SA's middle order batted well yesterday, while India's didn't. Did I commit a crime by saying so ? 267/1 and 296/10, what's that !? Now just because I don't like India, I wouldn't call them a weak team. It's quite an open cup, anyone can win. Lol.

Obviously. You can label anyone whatever you want. I think I am free to do so as well. Considering their history, SA & England are chokers. Lol :P. But sometimes, they don't choke. Yesterday was that sometime..

@bold:Actually no, you didn't say that so it seemed like more of a generalised comment to me.
Ok so even if SA aren't the greater team according to you, you still think India have a bit to learn from the SA middle order? Even though the only difference between SA and India in terms of points is that we have an extra game where we tied.

Yuvi scored 3 consecutive 50's, so surely our middle order can't be that bad? It was a bad day for us, that's all really. It was one match where our middle order totally collapsed, just like it was just one match where SA collapsed against England. ;)

Of course you're free to like whoever you want, label whoever you want as well, but this is the Debate Mansion after all so hopefully you're not expecting me to agree with everything you say.

whats with this fascination for the "choker" word ? loser, flop, failure - have these gone out of fashion ? outdated ?

Typically the team that wilts under pressure is tagged as "choker" .. but in this thread, any team that loses, irrespective of the circumstances or the importance of match, is being referred to as choker.

Yesterday's match was an even contest between 2 top teams; eventually SA won but calling India as choker wud be rather unfair..

Yep, they will have to learn not to choke from now on. They have done it against the bigger teams twice, so it's better if they don't. Coz in the QFs they'd be facing bigger teams, not minnows. As simple as that !

Nopes, your middle order isn't that bad. But yesterday, they were. So I said they'd have to improve on it. I didn't generalize any comment or anything, coz on a given day, any team can be better. & at this point, you can't really say which team is greater than which. It's all even as of now. It's just the matter of where you get what, & how..

I don't think I asked you to agree ? Did I ??

Nopes. Didn't call India chokers. They just choked yesterday, and once before that. Obviously, they'd have to do more than that to be called chokers.

& as for me, I just call England & SA chokers, not any other. But the act of wilting under pressure is called choking.
