There is always somebody who is willing to put in more hours than you who is as good as you are.

Anyway for the past 7-8 years have found work in a totally different area but for which i can work from home on a freelance basis. Payment is much less but my hubby calls it my anti-depressant as all the economics i get to read for my work gives me more pleasure than any amount of cooking i do or the things i do for my kids. Get to be called unprofessional at times when i refuse work due to home pressures and sometimes kids also adjust when i lock up my room at home to finish a deadline. But the joke is Ma will always come out of her room in time for Geet. And this forum isn't helping.

So what were you doing before and what are you doing now?  I am dreaming of quitting my job after 10 years and branch into a totally new area.  Writing full time or working for an NGO are the two things which I have in mind. I love teaching too but don't think anyone would want to hire me at that age. But as soon as I quit I may spend some time traveling and seeing places before taking up anything. Anyway these are just plans. As they say "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans." Lets see what future holds for me.

now i dont do that anymore...i say what i feel....he feels much better than we are on same page.

It is the opposite for me. I'm very vocal in expressing my feelings but my hubby is not which sometimes frustrates me.  In fact we are the direct opposite of each other and maybe that's why we work but sometimes it can also be a bone of contention when the differences get too pronounced.

@ opti, hope your son is better.

Communication is very important but the lives we lead trust has now become so important bcos otherwise we will never move ahead. Hubby was working on a proposal and did not come home and my mom called me to ask, is he in office.....I laughed and said.....I hope he is in office because nowadays with mobile phones the phone is just not connected to a wire. So you have to trust and after so many years, you kind of read what is going on. i don't know how but it comes.

if a marriage or a relationship is going bad also, there is nothing like they both didn't know. They know but they chose to ignore.

I heard a proverb once.....the best gift one can give to one's children.....
is to love ur spouse ...lovehim/her well..and let your children see it.
Because thats the safety net....and kids have to learn that.

So true. Learnt it the hard way.  Make it a point to let my son, who is well now, know that we are there for each other and him. Sometimes it is difficult though because he is now entering his teens and going through the pangs of adolescence.  No one is born a parent and I guess we just have to keep learning at every stage of our kids' lives.  Patience can really be tested and I try hard to learn that. Cannot say I've succeeded yet but have mellowed down considerably over the years.

@ Prema - That's the problem, people doesnt wanna talk and take help from 3rd person....Jub aap apni relation ko khudh nahin carry kur sakte, what you think that third person would be honest? But anyways it's depend how wise the third person is?
I hardly share my personal problems with anyone, but if ever i did, i found who's the most honest friend..The person who gives you advice to carry the relation with the good suggestions would be the honest friend, who thinks wisely......

I hope i am not confusing u...

well i am not as experienced as many of you, just 4 years married........
as soon as i got married, my sis went to my hubby asking him to fill her Slam Book.
at the end there are thoughts shared, which said " expect the least in your life and you will never be surprised"

Really it took almost 4 years till today and i am still discovering a new side of him and still not have got what he meant

for me i know Maan is just a character and am crazy about him.
