The US Senate just released their video for the It Gets Better Project

Indulging to a voter demographic, I don't see most of these people going out of their way to help. Do they really understand that they need to help find equality to help LGBT, not just make videos that require no commitment.

It would be nave of anyone to think that the message is purely out of goodwill.  Most of it is largely building the foundation for 2012. 2010 was lost due to low voter turnout especially amidst the liberals, LGBT and minorities. Most won't vote GOP, and lost faith in the administration as well – so ended up not voting at all. They are trying desperately to turn that around and keep the voter base charged. It is very rare that the words will turn to some action, because despite everything no one really wants to turn away the conservative Christian voter either. Conservative Christian makes a large chunk of American voters, especially in the heartland.

And even though it's just words – its working perfectly. Rachel Maddow received a lot of flak from her own fans as well as Obama supporters when she called him out on his flip flopping stance on the NY marriage bill. It goes to prove the significant effect even talk has on this issue. To give due credit though, the senators who appear in this ad are not all talk. They have actually been pivotal in a lot of the pro-equality legislation be it Matthew Shepard Act, repealing of DADT or the push for federal marriage equality.

Either way the posting of this video here was not for politics. The 'It gets better' project was started after a spate of suicide amidst LGBT and other bullied teenagers. A lot of them are between the ages of 8-16. Many are from small towns where the entire legal, political, social, religious systems appear to be against them. So when US senators speak to them that it gets better, it is a huge deal. In that phase of life, just a word of support goes much further than action. It is symbolically and emotionally significant.

I was pleasantly surprised when I came across the trailer for this Iranian film. Its actually interesting how many Middle Eastern/Islamic themed gay films there are.

Well if two pretty gals are happy with each other, then let them be.
I wonder if men disagree to all this becoz of jealousy.

In Thailand Lady boy's are accepted for what they are. Sadly their lives are all topsy turvy too because of the profession they are in.

^^

Its not been easy going in Thailand, but they are surprisingly one of the most progressive Asian countries in accepting LGBT people. Here is another Thai film trailer based on a true story of a transsexual kickboxer.

These kick boxing sports are real bloody.
Thais are generally gentle and courteous.
Sadly the country has one of the most liberal prostitution laws, thus a high HIV risk.

Not only prostitutes but also homosexuals are said to have a higher risk of HIV.  recent statistics in India puts HIV in gen population to 0.3 % and in homosexuals it is  0.7%. While prostitutes can be targetted for preventive or curative measures as they stay in clusters it would be difficult to target the homosexuals thus they could  pose a greater risk of HIV spread.
Yep terrible and sad.
Quite a few young prostitutes have committed suicide when they discovered they had aids.

Homosexuals, hope they take precautions too.
