Oh yaar, you people always post earlier than me!

Oh anyway, since I have written it in detail now, so as a punishment you have to read it. LOL

Here is what Sushant said about his concept:

I was given the colour red. Normally people associate red with love, seduction etc. but I wanted to do something different. I had read in twelfth class that Chinese associate red with luck. So I wanted to do something of that sort, that from beginning to night, yamdoot (death's messenger) is after me, but every time I get saved cos I have something red. Shampa liked the idea and choreographed a 'Flamenco' on it.

For the whole interview, watch the video!!

Edit:

Thanks for video nish!

Thanks for pointing out the video, CuteCherry and posting it Nisha (OMG I was so right!  LOL).

We were all so off.  LOL

So his color is red, not purple.  I guess it's actually cool that he didn't wear red to rub it in more, and instead wants to show the color through the dance and concept.

I like how he thinks of something so simple - red is the color of luck in China - and comes up with a whole concept on it.  It's good that he didn't go with the typical assumption of red is the color for passion.  And oooh, he's doing Flamenco.  Day Dreaming  I'm definitely looking forward to this now.

Flamenco Dancing

Spanish Gypsy Dance History and Steps

Flamenco dancing is well-known for its passion and grace, but its history as a gypsy dance in the Andalucia region of Spain is a mystery to many.

Flamenco dancing is instantly recognizable for its fervor, big skirts, and proud carriage. However, the history of this type of Spanish dancing is as integral to the dance as the graceful arm movements and quick footwork. Its roots lie in gypsy dance, and while flamenco steps and traditions have changed immensely over the last 500 years, true flamenco dancers committed to dancing the art of their ancestors can still be found in the Spanish region of Andalucia today.

Flamenco History and the Gypsy Dance

The creation of flamenco dancing was the result of several cultures coming together and their music, dance, and moods mingling. The gypsy people came from India and arrived in the Andalucia region of Spain in the early 1400s. Jews and moors also lived in this area, which was under Arab rule at the time.

Catholic monarchs required the gypsies, Jews and moors all to convert to Christianity and give up their traditions and way of living; as a result, these groups took refuge together in mountainous areas that were too dangerous for authorities to visit. This is when gypsy dance began to mix with Arab influences and other Spanish dancing, which eventually became known as flamenco.
