How can a person who has been exposed to high temperatures of sauna, and is suffering from heat exhaustion, have cold skin right away?  THis is one of the symptoms that Geet was stated to suffer from in tonight's episode.

And why was first aid not shown to be administered to Geet by Maan while the ambulance was on its way. Why did the doctor not ask in detail what  her symptoms were - rapid pulse etc? plus why no advise from the doc about what Maan should do to alleviate some of the danger symptoms for Geet? Why was Geet still covered with that beautiful but blasted dupatta when she was just out of the sauna room half baked in heat?

Introducing hyperthermia as one of the probable manner in which to intensify the drama scenes in GHSP is fine, but why did they not look at all the angles of hyperthermia and decide on what exactly Geet is having. How long exactly was Geet in the sauna and why take it so far as to make her loos consciousness? Geet losing consciousness is the gravest symptom of hyperthermia. Over -exposure to heat can lead to heat stroke, heat exhaustion of which heat stroke is the really serious one! Which one is Geet supposed to be having? Did the cvs contemplate that?

Why are they saying the foetes life is in danger? When pregnent women are exposed to intense steam, the side effect can be birth defect in the foetes, not a baby death as such.

Why are the cvs concentrating solely on the taveez aspect, giving it more than necessary footage (pls note I am not against the taveez at all), and forgetting that when they show highrange drama like being locked in a sauna, they need to research on the symptoms and consequences of what heat exhaustion or heat stroke can lead to and present a drama fit for thinkers - the audience that Geet has is not exactly sitting there lapping it all without thought?

If you even look at what heat exhaustion and heat stroke can do to people.....here are different takes on it.

Different people may have different symptoms and signs of heatstroke. But common symptoms and signs of heat stroke include:

        high body temperature,

the absence of sweating, with hot red or flushed dry skin,

        rapid pulse,

        difficulty breathing,

        strange behavior,

        hallucinations,

        confusion,

        agitation,

        disorientation,

        seizure, and/or

        coma.

Pregnant women should avoid steam rooms entirely. It is not wise to let the body temperature get too hot (above 102 degrees). Overexposure to steam rooms can actually lead to birth defects. Steam rooms can also negatively affect a pregnant woman's blood pressure, restricting oxygen flow to the fetus.

Heat stroke can be life-threatening and victims can die. A person with heat stroke usually has a body temperature above 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Other symptoms include confusion, combativeness, bizarre behavior, faintness, staggering, strong and rapid pulse, and possible delirium or coma. High body temperature is capable of producing irreversible brain damage.

Heat exhaustion is a warning that the body is getting too hot. The person may be thirsty, giddy, weak, uncoordinated, nauseated and sweating profusely. The body temperature is normal and the pulse is normal or raised. The skin is cold and clammy.

Diagnosis of Hyperthermia

Diagnosis is based on the medical history (including symptoms) and physical exam.

Treatment of Hyperthermia

If the victim is exhibiting signs of heat stroke, emergency assistance should be sought immediately. Without medical attention, heat stroke can be deadly.

Heat exhaustion may be treated in several ways:

  • get the victim out of the sun into a cool place, preferably one that is air conditioned
  • offer fluids but avoid alcohol and caffeine - water and fruit juices are best
  • encourage the individual to shower and bathe, or sponge off with cool water
  • urge the person to lie down and rest, preferably in a cool place
