Chapter Thirty One.
"Onu?" Taani said as she sat in his arms on the sofa that evening.
"Haan?"
"Tu to kehraha tha ke hum bahar jaayeghe aaj?"
"Haan" he remembered "aaj nahin Taani, bohat thaaka hoon"
"Acha?" she looked up at him
"Haan"
"Tune kiya kya ke tu itna thakgaya?"
"Kiya kya matlab? Main tumhaari help kiya tha"
"Acha?"
"Haan" he said and she sat back properly again
"Help kiya ya bigaardiya saari mehnat ko?" she asked, shaking her head.
"Help kiya" he insisted, leaning his forehead on the side of her head,
making her smile.
"Taani?" Laboni called from the kitchen. Taani pushed Anurag away and
sat up.
"Haan maa?"
"Aana to"
"Aayi" she called, about to get up when Anurag tightened his grip around
her, forcing her to fall back onto him.
"Onu! Jaane de!" she whispered
"Jao na phir" he smirked and she made a face.
"Onuuu" she complained and he let go of her. She smiled before putting
her slippers on and walked off.
"Haan maa?"
"Yeh le. Table pe rak"
"Acha" she said and looked up to see Anurag was watching her. She smiled
to herself before carrying on with what she was doing.
"Onu, paper rak na, baad main parlena" Taani said as he sat at the
dinner table, trying to read the newspaper in peace.
"Taani ruk, time nahin milegha"
"Onu, dekh" she said reaching for it but he pushed her back "maa, dekh
na"
"Parneda na baba" she said sitting with them.
"Haan, parnede" he said not looking up
Taani sighed as Anurag continued to read the newspaper. Taani saw the
green chillis and smiled to herself before reaching for one. She looked
up at her mother who shook her head, smiling, knowing exactly what she
was about to do.
"Onu?" she said, knowing she wouldn't have his full attention.
"Haan?" he said not looking up
"Yeh le" she said handing the chilli to him. He took it and put it in
his mouth as Taani casually pushed her chair back and got up as the
chilliness registered on Anurag's face. She tried to suppress a chuckle
as Anurag looked up at her.
"Taani! Tu!" he said getting up
"Onu..." she warned but he began chasing her around the table as she
laughed and screamed at the same time.
"Samhal ke baba! Girjaaoghe!" Laboni told them
"Onu! Nahin!" Taani screamed as she ran into their room and closed the
door on him.
"Taani! Darvaaza khol!" he told her
"Nahin! Tu khaana khaale"
"Taani!"
"Jaa!"
"Theek hai" he said and Taani heard footsteps away from the door.
"Onu?" she called, not hearing any noise for a few minutes. "Onu?" she
said and slowly opened the bedroom door, popping her head outside it to
make sure he wasn't hiding.
She sighed in relief before opening the door properly and out of nowhere
Anurag appeared, pulling her back into the room, closing the door
behind them and her leaning on it.
"Bohat hassi aarahi thi tujhe?"
"Haan. Aaya. Kyun?" she folded her arms "Kya karlegha tu?" she asked and
he leant forward and she squeezed her eyes tight as Anurag stood there,
watching her. A few minutes later she opened her eyes to see him just
smiling at her.
"Onu! Ab Chal" she said "ab khaana aaram se khaayegha na?"
"Sochoongha"
"Onu!" she warned
"Haan, khaoongha"
"Theek hai, chal" she smiled opening the bedroom door and walked out of
the room, followed by Anurag.Edited by Lubz.TaAnu - 13 years ago
